NBA Weekly Review – Cavs Tighten Grip, Lakers Remain Rock Steady

Okay BetOnline NBA sports betting buffs, the start of another brand new week means it’s once again time to look at how each team has fared with their SU numbers over the course of the past week.

I’ll start this week, with the lesser-talented Eastern Conference.

The top seed in the East, the Cleveland Cavaliers have won five straight games coming into Monday and have gone a league-best 9-1 over their last 10 games. They are starting to tighten their grip on home court advantage in the Eastern Conference over the defending-champion Boston Celtics who have been struggling to stay afloat without some of their key members including reigning Defensive Player of the Year, Kevin Garnett.

The C’s have gone just 5-5 over their L/10 and come into tonight’s contest off an ugly loss to the Milwaukee Bucks on Sunday.

The third place Orlando Magic have remained steady-as-she goes’ with a solid 8-2 mark over their L/10, including a three-game winning streak heading into Monday’s action that has pulled them within one-half game of Boston.

The Atlanta Hawks have won five straight games coming into tonight’s matchups, covering the spread each time out while going 7-3 SU over their L/10.

The Miami Heat have ridden the red-hot hand of MVP candidate Dwyane Wade to a 6-4 mark over their L/10 while the Philadelphia 76ers have won three consecutive games to also go 6-4 over their L/10.

The seventh place Detroit Pistons have gone 6-4 over their L/10 while the Milwaukee Bucks have struggled over their L/10 despite their solid win over Boston, going just 3-7 over their last 10 contests.

The ninth place Chicago Bulls are in a virtual tie with Milwaukee for the final playoff spot in the Eastern Conference but are just 4-6 over their L/10.

In the Western Conference, the Los Angeles Lakers just keep on rolling, having won three consecutive games while going a solid 7-3 over their L/10 while the second place San Antonio Spurs and third place Houston Rockets have been unable to close the conference gap, with both clubs going a modest 6-4 over their L/10.

While the fourth-place Denver Nuggets have gone an uninspiring 5-5 over their last ten, the New Orleans Hornets have made a push to move up the Western Conference standings, going 8-2 over their L/10 to move within three games of the second place Spurs.

The sixth place Portland Trail Blazers and eighth place Dallas Mavericks have each gone 6-4 SU over their L/10 while the seventh place Utah Jazz have also made a move to win their division by going 7-3 over their L/10.

The Phoenix Suns have won two straight, but sit firmly in ninth place, four games behind Dallas for the final playoff spot in the Western Conference.
