It has been an exciting season in Gainesville, as for the first time in four years, the Gators are a real player in the SEC. Currently they sit at 9-2 in conference play, with a full two game lead over Vanderbilt in the SEC East standings. Florida is 8-2 straight up in their last 10 games, and 4-0 in their last four.

And really, to single out one Gator who has led this team would be taking away from what is truly a team effort. On the season, Florida has five players averaging at least eight points per game, and four who score in double-figures. Their leader appears to be guard Erving Walker, who is averaging over 14.7 points per game, including a 25 point effort two games ago against South Carolina. With Walker and Kenny Boynton (12.9 points per game) in the backcourt, Florida has one of the most fearsome guard combos to bet against in the Online Sportsbook.

But as good as they’ve been lately, that doesn’t mean that LSU can’t spring an upset here. It won’t be easy as the Tigers clearly are one of the worst teams in the SEC, and have now lost eight in a row.

Really, when it comes to this ball-club, the problems begin and end on the offensive side of the ball. LSU ranks just 306th nationally in scoring (62.7 points per game) and 318th in field goal percentage, shooting a meager 40 percent from the field. Big guard Ralston Turner (12.2 points per game) provides the best offensive spark on this team.

However, when it comes to the Online Sportsbook betting line, be very careful here. Because upon closer inspection this LSU team actually does play good defense. And going against a Florida club that doesn’t always play well offensively, we could be in for a surprisingly close game.

Let’s look at the numbers. As bad as LSU is offensively (and believe us, they’re bad), they do play solid defense, allowing opponents to shoot just 48 percent from the field. That puts the Tigers in the Top 50 nationally. As for Florida, well despite their high ranking, they aren’t always crisp offensively, scoring just 71 points per game.

Look, we’d be lying if we said that we thought LSU could win this game straight up. But can they cover the betting odds? At home, against this Florida club, we think so.

If you’re just looking for a winner straight up, than unequivocally, take Florida. But if you’re wondering which team will cover the points, than head over to the Online Sportsbook and take LSU.

You won’t be disappointed.
