Thursday Night College Football Pick: Nebraska vs Missouri

October 7, 2009

The only Thursday night college football game this week features two ranked teams as the 3 point favorite (21) Nebraska Cornhuskers visit (24) Missouri State at 9:00 PM ET at Faurot Field.

Nebraska must stoop Missouri State QB Blaine Gabbert in order to avoid an upset on the road. Gabbert has been amazing so far, he has thrown 1161 yard with 11 TD a zero interceptions for a 168.57 QB rating.

The Tigers passing offense is the 9 th in the nation, a stat all you College football betting fans must consider before betting. Big plays are likely to define big games in college and Missouri has the perfect weapons in the passing game to make that happen.

“This is it. This is the road to the Big 12 championship, and it starts with us and Nebraska on Thursday night," Missouri defensive lineman Jaron Baston said.

Nebraska’s only loss in the season came at Virginia Tech (only game road game for the ‘Huskers). Keep in mind Nebraska has lost seven in a row and 14 of 15 road games against ranked opponents.

Nebraska QB Zac Lee was 16 of 19 for 280 yards and a TD in the win against Louisiana-Lafayette last week. But the Cornhuskers best shot to win is to look for RB Roy Helu Jr. to find running room against the Tigers’ defensive front

Also consider that the Tigers has won 23 of 27 home games and three straight over Nebraska at Faurot Field.

College Football odds:

Nebraska Cornhuskers: -3

Missouri Tigers: +3

Pick: I like the home dog here, bet on Missouri.
