The Sunday Furious Foursome – NBA Picks For Sunday
April 11, 2010
Orlando Magic over CLEVELAND CAVALIERS – 1:00PM EST
It should be marquee game, but Cleveland seems intent on resting LeBron James down the home stretch. The Magic will come out trying to send a message to the best team in the league, and the Cavs won’t be listening. Simply put, the Magic are going to care about this game way more than the self-righteous Cavaliers will. Cleveland is just 4-6 SU and 3-7 ATS when playing the Magic. Take Dwight Howard’s boys moneyline as road dogs.
LA LAKERS over Portland Trailblazers – 3:30pm EST
Either the Lakers are playing possum or they’re just getting hosed by wily veteran teams. Losses to the Spurs and Nuggets shouldn’t overshadow the fact that the Trailblazers are still a very young band of brothers. The Lakers have gone 2-2 ATS when hosting the Blazers, and without Bynum the oddsmakers will draw a tight line in the sand. But it’s time for Kobe to come out and dominate, and without a fully healthy Marcus Camby, the Blazers won’t have the grit or leadership to get past the Lakers at the STAPLES Center.
Oklahoma City Thunder over GOLDEN STATE WARRIORS – 9:00PM EST
The Warriors have earned Don Nelson his all-time winning record, now they have to do what they can to earn themselves a decent shot at a solid draft pick. The OKC Thunder will be 5-1 ATS on the road heading in tot his game, and a huge matchup against Phoenix will determine if OKC has the muscle to get out of that dreaded eighth-spot. Kevin Durant has to put this team on his back to get them out in to a higher seed, but what’s appealing is how willing Westbrook and Green are helping him on the scoreboard. Don’t be scared of Golden State’s home grown fireworks. The Thunder can keep up, and then some.
PHOENIX SUNS over Houston Rockets – 9:00pm EST
Don’t be fooled by Houston’s win over the Utah Jazz. Jerry Sloan’s boys were exhausted after running the gauntlet with OKC the night before. The Suns are playing with a chemistry that is second to very few teams, and Houston has the chance to get there in the 2010-11 NBA betting season. Steve Nash’s team is 5-0-1 ATS in their last 6 home games. I say they run the road weary Rockets off the court as they prepare for a Western Conference fight to the finish.
