Any Hope For The Raptors and Sixers Tonight?
CLEVELAND CAVALIERS -11 over Toronto Raptors
When Kobe dropped 61 in Madison Square Garden, you know LeBron was paying attention. Good news, King James! You’re playing the Raptors tonight in your own building! Toronto has gone 3-6-1 ATS in their last 10 games, and have gone 2-5 ATS in their last 7 against Cleveland. The Raptors are infamous for their inability to stop a true scorer. This year alone they’ve been destroyed by Vince Carter, Melo, Kevin Durant and, of course, LeBron. Good luck, Raptor fans. This one’s gonna hurt.
Boston Celtics -1.5 over PHILADELPHIA 76ERS
This was as about a dumb a line as you could make for this game. Since the return of Elton Brand, the Sixers have dropped to 1-4-1 ATS over their last 6 games. The funny thing is that they went 9-4 ATS before he came back. So why aren’t the Sixers getting more points in this game? The only discernable reason is that KG is ill, and is likely not to play. Still, the Sixers? As long as Brand is anchoring this team down in the depths of futility, I’d bet Boston.
The Celtics are still 8-1 ATS in their last 9 games and undefeated on the road straight up and against the NBA betting line in their last five roadies and the C’s have always KO’d the Sixers. In the last two games alone this season, Boston has won by 19 and 24 points.
Minnesota Timberwolves +4 over INDAINA PACERS
Call me a douchebag if you want to, but I’m pretty sure Al Jefferson is going to start making strong statements after another All-Star snub. Mr. Double Double is posting 23.2 points and 10.6 rebounds, along with 1.70 blocks on one of the worst teams in the league. Imagine what he could do on a good team, or if the Wolves weren’t so inept in upper management and could surround him with talent? Oh wait, that’s the same problem they had with KG. Nevermind.
The Pacers will be without Danny Granger, who is suffering from a bruised knee. That means that Timberwolves, 5-0 ATS in their last 5 road games and 5-2 SU in their last 7. They’re a strong play when the visit the Pacers tonight with an offense that improves on the road to 98.0 points per game against the 27th worst home defense and no Granger.
NEW JERSEY NETS -4.5 over Milwaukee Bucks
The effects of losing Michael Redd to a torn everything has caused the spread busting Bucks to get throttled by the oddsmakers. The Bucks are 2-4 ATS in their last 6 games and have also stumbled to a 1-4 ATS record on the road. When they visit the Izod Center tonight to take on the New Jersey Nets, they’re going to be in big trouble. Vince Carter may be slowed slightly by a sprained ankle, but I’m not going to trust a team that relies on perimeter shooting from a guy who looks like Shrek (Charlie V) to cover the spread. Look for Devin Harris and VC to roll the Bucks in this game and prove that they can still make some noise on the NBA betting line.
