Suns at Lakers – Phoenix Back to Run and Gun
February 26, 2009
The Phoenix Suns bounced back from their resounding loss to the Boston Celtics to beat the Charlotte Bobcats 112-102 on Tuesday night as two-time league MVP Steve Nash dropped a game-high 22 points to help Phoenix cover the spread as 7-point home favorites while the teams played under the 222-point O/U total.
The Los Angeles Lakers (47-10 SU, 30-27 ATS, 34-22-1 O/U) come into tonight’s matchup riding a five-game winning streak and are coming off a solid 107-93 win over the Oklahoma City Thunder on Tuesday night.
Superstar shooting guard Kobe Bryant poured in 36 points to help the Lakers cover the spread as s 7.5-point road favorites while the game played under the 221.5-point O/U total.
Here is a look at tonight’s key trends, followed by my in-depth analysis and NBA Betting Free Pick.

NBA Odds
Phoenix Suns +10 ½ -110
Los Angeles Lakers -10 ½ -110
Over 233 -110
Under 233-110
Analysis: With the Phoenix Suns having gotten back to their run-and-gun up tempo style, I think they have enough gas in the tank to cover the spread in this matchup, though they will certainly not beat the Lakers on their home floor.
While the team foolishly traded away veteran contributors Boris Diaw and Raja Bell, I think the Suns still have enough talent to cover this spread just barely.
I also like the Under in this matchup and think it may be the best bet on the board as the Lakers should be able to keep the Suns from running too wild.
