Boise State: -34 ½

Idaho: +34 ½

We all know the story in this one, as Boise State needs to continue to win, and win big, if they’ve got any hope of playing for a BCS title. Luckily for Broncos fans, with the way this offense has been going, that shouldn’t be a problem.

Boise State comes into this one, ranked No. 2 in the country in scoring, averaging a staggering 47 points per game.

The star of the show for the third straight year of course, is Broncos quarterback Kellen Moore. He may very well be in the midst of a Heisman Trophy winning season.

The redshirt junior has been spectacular leading the Broncos fifth-ranked passing attack (327 yards per game), and is coming off one of the best performances of his career Saturday. In that game, Moore threw for a staggering 507 yards and three touchdowns, before coach Chris Peterson called off the dogs and took Moore out in the fourth quarter.

On the year, Moore is completing a hard-to-believe 71.8 percent of his passes, and has already tossed 21 touchdowns.

So with that pressure, the Idaho Vandals host their cross-state rivals, and will be looking to do anything to keep Friday night’s Sports Betting close.

If that’s to happen for Idaho, it’ll have to start with Nathan Enderle and the No. 4 ranked passing offense in the country. While Boise State gets all the credit for being a high-powered passing attack, Idaho ranks just slightly ahead of them at over 328 yards per game.

Again, the star is Enderle, who might hardly be a household name, but is putting up video-game like numbers for the Vandals this year. On the season, he’s thrown for over 2,500 yards and 17 touchdowns, but has also been picked off 12 times as well. Obviously, there is little margin for error against this stout Boise defense.

Really though, even if Enderle has a good game, the play in Friday’s Sports Betting is still Boise, and the reason is simple: The Broncos are a MUCH more balanced team, something that will be exposed over the course of 60 minutes.

As was mentioned previously, both teams are ranked in the Top 5 nationally in passing, but Idaho ranks just 116th in major college football, averaging just 85 yards on the ground per game. Look for a Boise defense that is allowing just 12.6 points per game (second in the NCAA) to sit back, and make the Vandals beat them with the run.

Boise on the other hand, has one of the most balanced offenses in college football, thanks to a rushing game that averages 216 yards per game on the ground. If Moore is struggling, Boise will simply put the game on the shoulders of back Doug Martin. If Enderle struggles, Idaho has no alternative.

In the end, expect the balance of Boise to be too much for the one-dimensional Idaho Vandals. In this case, the NCAAF Betting pick is clear: Take Boise State.

Sports Betting Pick: Boise State -34 ½
