March 9, 2011
If it’s March Mayhem betting madness that you love, then you’re going to get you’re share tonight BetOnline college basketball betting fanatics as the 2011 Big East Tournament continues with its second round of action.
The South Florida Bulls will be looking to create some more March Mayhem betting madness when they take to the court at Madison Square Garden tonight following their thrilling first round overtime win over the reeling Villanova Wildcats on Tuesday.
In addition to the surprising Bulls, UConn, Rutgers and Marquette will look to build on the momentum they picked up in winning their first round matchups on Tuesday.
Here is a look at all four Big East Tournament matchups that will take place in the BetOnline basketball sportsbook tonight, followed by my analysis and expert handicapping picks.
No. 19 Connecticut vs. No. 22 Georgetown 12:00 PM ET
The Huskies pounded DePaul 97-71 on Tuesday, but the Georgetown Hoyas are in a different class altogether. Still, the Huskies beat their conference counterparts 78-70 on Feb. 16 to cash in against the March Mayhem college basketball betting odds as a 2.5-point home favorite.
The Huskies have also gone 9-4 ATS in their last 13 matchups against the Hoyas while the Underdog in this Big East rivalry has gone 5-2 against the college basketball betting line in the last seven meetings overall.
Let me show the Hoyas some love by pointing out the fact that Georgetown has recorded a nearly perfect 10-1 ATS mark in its L/11 neutral site games.
Rutgers vs. No. 18 St. John’s 2:25 PM ET
Apparently, whichever team is the Underdog in this series is going to cash in against the college basketball betting odds as the Underdog has gone 7-1 ATS in the last eight meetings.
The most revealing ATS trends for this matchup may be the fact that the Scarlet Knights are just 3-7-1 ATS in its last 11 neutral site games while St. John’s has gone 4-1 against the college basketball line in their last five neutral site games.
Rutgers has cashed in against the spread in two straight over the Red Storm and four of the last half-dozen meetings overall.
South Florida vs. Cincinnati 7:00 PM ET
Not only do the South Florida Bulls have some serious momentum going after knocking off Villanova 70-69 in overtime on Tuesday, but they’ve also compiled a perfectly bankroll-boosting 8-0 ATS mark against the college basketball betting line in their last eight matchups against the Cincinnati Bearcats. These two rivals have alternated SU wins and losses over the last eight meetings while the Underdog in this series has gone 4-1 ATS in the L/5 meetings overall.
Marquette vs. West Virginia 9:25 PM ET
These two Big East rivals have alternated SU wins and losses over their last half-dozen meetings while the Favorite has gone 5-1 ATS during the span. The Marquette Golden Eagles handed West Virginia a 79-74 loss on Jan. 1 to cash in as a 2-point home favorite while also going 4-1 ATS in their last five meetings against the Mountaineers.
