NBA Odds

San Antonio Spurs (+1.5) -110

Chicago Bulls (-1.5) -110

Over/Under 189

The team with the best record in the league in the Spurs (46-9 SU) heads to Chicago to take on the team with the best home record in the East (24-4 SU). What to do, what to do? I’ll tell ya what you do – lay the points with Chicago as it will even up the season series with the Spurs by churning out the home win and NBA odds cover.

San Antonio scored the 103-94 home win and cover in these team’s first meeting this season, but the Spurs had the benefit of not having to face the Bulls with Carlos Boozer and Kurt Thomas in the line-up. Both bigs have been a huge reason as to why Chicago sits 20+ games over the .500 mark and a remarkable 31-20-2 against the closing NBA odds.

While the Spurs are 7-3 SU & ATS their L/10 visits to the Windy City, they’ve beaten up on Chicago teams much less heralded than Coach Thibodeau’s current version. San Antonio does sport rock solid 6-2 SU & 7-1 ATS marks as road underdogs of three points or less to date, but Chicago has covered each of its last four at home and stands an impressive 5-0-1 ATS against the last six +.600 opponents faced. Look for Chicago to hold serve against the NBA odds in this TNT spot and head into the break with a ton of momentum.

SLAM THE BULLS!

Dallas Mavericks @ Phoenix Suns

Game Date/Time: Thursday, February 17th, 10:30 ET

Game Location: US Airways Center, Phoenix, AZ

TV/Radio Broadcast: TNT, XM

NBA Odds

Dallas Mavericks (-1.5) -110

Phoenix Suns (+1.5) -110

Over/Under 206.5

The nightcap of TNT’s Thursday night telecast offers up a good old fashioned rivalry match-up between Dirk Nowitzki’s Mavs and Steve Nash’s Suns. This will be the second meeting between these former teammates this season; The Mavericks pounded the Suns 106-91 as 7.5-point NBA odds home chalks back in the middle of December.

Dallas was simply shocked a week ago to the night in Denver where they lost when Arron Afflalo nailed a jumper at the buzzer. Since then however, Big D has rebounded with a pair of wins winning 106-102 as one-point favorites in Houston and 116-100 as 11-point chalk last night. To date, Dallas is 7-4 SU & ATS playing on no rest.

The Suns squeaked out a 102-101 home win over Utah its last time out to move to 16-12 SU but just 11-16-1 ATS at home on the year. Though Phoenix is 6-2 ATS the last eight times it went off the board as an underdog, it stands just 1-4-1 against the closing NBA odds the last six times it hosted a +.600 opponent. With Dallas still hot on San Antonio’s tail since Dirk returned to the lineup (13-2 SU & 10-5 ATS L/15) and 5-2 ATS its last seven as a chalk, look for the Mavs to make up for last week’s tough to stomach TNT defeat and take it to the Suns in the desert!
