Running of the Bulls – Chicago vs. New Jersey
February 26, 2009
Neither the Bulls nor the Nets are ranked in the Power Rankings, but that shouldn’t steer gamblers away from making a bet on one of these teams in their game on Wednesday night. The Bulls in particular have been a solid wager in some games this season. They aren’t exactly lighting things up straight-up going 26 and 31 but they do have a slightly better than .500 record against the spread going 28-28-1. Their ATS record on the road is 15-14-1.
The New Jersey Nets are a strange team. At times they can be absolutely dominating like when they beat the Denver Nuggets by 43 points. Then at other times, they can be downright terrible like when they lost to the Dallas Mavericks by 15 points. The Nets’ record against the spread is 29 and 28. Their ATS record at home is 12 and 17.
Here is the BetOnline online sportsbook betting line for this game.
Chicago Bulls +2 -110 +110 O 204 -110
New Jersey Nets -2 -110 -130 U 204 -110
Here are a few online wagering trends for this game.
The Chicago Bulls are 7-1-1 against the spread in their last 9 games on the road.
The Chicago Bulls are 2 and 10 ATS in their last 12 games versus the Nets in New Jersey.
The New Jersey Nets are 1 and 5 ATS in their last 6 games overall.
The New Jersey Nets are 5 and 0 against the spread in their last 5 games as a favorite of ½ to 4 ½ points.
The Nets and Bulls have the potential to play a very close game tonight. On paper, these two teams are very close in terms of talent.
But the Bulls appear to be slightly better because of rookie Derrick Rose who is averaging 6.4 assists per game. With Rose and Ben Gordon in the backcourt, the Bulls have a very nice tandem. Both guys can score and Rose is becoming a very solid point-guard.
The Nets counter with Devin Harris and Vince Carter. Harris had 39 points in New Jersey’s last game, a victory over Philadelphia, but before that the Nets had gone 0 and 5 straight-up and ATS.
The Bulls, on the other hand, have beaten both Orlando and Denver in dominating fashion in two out of their three last games.
I like the Bulls to upset the Nets in this one.
I’ll be making a bet on the Chicago Bulls to beat the +2 points in the sportsbook.
