Post Season Dreaming – Charlotte at Sacramento

February 26, 2009

The Charlotte Bobcats (22-35 SU, 32-25 ATS, 24-31-2 O/U) and the Sacramento Kings (12-46 SU, 27-31 ATS, 30-28 O/U) will both be trying to snap their respective losing streaks in the BetOnline Sportsbook when they battle at ARCO Arena tonight.

Multi-talented forward Boris Diaw had 27 points, 10 rebounds and six assists for Charlotte in its 112-102 loss to Phoenix on Tuesday night.

The Bobcats failed to cover the spread for BetOnline NBA betting enthusiasts as 7-point road underdogs while the teams played under the 222-point O/U total.

Outstanding shooting guard Kevin Martin poured in a game-high 32 points for Sacramento in its 112-105 loss to New Orleans on Monday night.

The Kings failed to cover the spread as a 9-point home underdog while the game played over the 203-point O/U total posted by oddsmakers.

Here is a look at the key betting trends for each team, followed by my in-depth analysis and NBA Free Picks.

Charlotte is 2-4 SU in its last 6 games when playing Sacramento

Charlotte is 1-4 SU in its last 5 games

Charlotte is 0-5 SU in its last 5 games on the road

The total has gone OVER in 5 of Sacramento’s last 6 games when playing Charlotte

Sacramento is 4-1 ATS in its last 5 games

The total has gone OVER in 6 of Sacramento’s last 8 games at home

Sacramento is 4-2 SU in its last 6 games when playing Charlotte

NBA Odds

Charlotte Bobcats -3 -110

Sacramento Kings +3 -110

Over 200½ -110

Under 200½ -110

Analysis: I’m a bit surprised that the Bobcats are favored in this contest despite being on the road, particularly seeing as how they haven’t beaten the Kings in Sacramento in the last four trips out west.

While I fully believe the Bobcats are the better team and have the better coach in this contest, something tells me the Kings are going to protect their home court while getting the outright win.

With the Kings getting points at home, I say take Kevin Martin and Co. to get the job done and cover the NBA spread.

NBA Free Picks: Sacramento +3 Points/Under 200½ Total Points
