Pick 3 Horse Bet – Ultra-Competitive Races 5 Through 7 at Hollywood Park on Thursday Almost Assure a Nice Pick 3 Payout
May 27, 2010
Races 5, 6 and 7 at Hollywood Park on Thursday are all extremely competitive.
That means a Pick 3 involving those 3 races should yield terrific profits in the horse racing sportsbook.
Of course, that also means that my Pick 3 ticket is going to cost me some dollars, but, hey, as the California Lottery Commission always reminds me, “You can’t win if you don’t play!” You better believe that I intend on playing (the ponies that is, not the lottery) on Thursday!
Thursday Pick 3
Hollywood Park – Races 5 thru 7
Where: Inglewood, CA
When: Race 5 (Leg 1) – 6:04 pm EST
Race 6 (Leg 2) – 6:35 pm EST
Race 7 (Leg 3) – 7:05 pm EST
TV: TVG and HRTV
Race 5 (Leg 1)
- Optional Claiming $62,500 n$y For Three Year Olds and Up
- 6 furlongs on turf
Horses Used: pp-1 Grace Upon Grace, pp-2 Cayambe, pp-4 Get Funky, pp-5 Futuro, pp-7 Hidden Blessing
Analysis: Grace Upon Grace won first time asking on the turf and could actually improve. Jockey Christian Reyes Santiago is going to have to make a trip out of the 1 hole. Cayambe is a turf sprint specialist moving up in class that has a big shot.
Get Funky is graded place and is the class of this field. Futuro is trying turf for the first time for trainer Richard Mandella, gets blinkers, and should be close to the pace throughout. Hidden Blessing is 2 for 2 over Hollywood Park’s turf course and 1 for 1 at this distance.
Race 6 (Leg 2)
- Claiming $20,000 For Fillies Three Years Old
- 6 furlongs on cushion track
Horses Used: pp-4 Scratchthemoon, 8-Sky Chant, 9-Miss Olivia K
Horse Racing Betting Analysis: Scratchthemoon takes a slight drop in class, keeps Rafael Bejarano and goes second time for trainer Marty Jones. Sky Chant runs on the turf for the second time. Because War Chant sired her, she should be even better on turf than she is on dirt. Miss Olivia K drops for 40% winning trainer Janet Armstrong and is the speed of this field. If she takes to the turf, she could go gate-to-wire.
Race 7 (Leg 3)
- State-Bred Optional Claiming $25,000 For Fillies Three Years Old and Up
- 1 1/16th miles on turf
Horses Used: pp-2 Teafatiller, pp-3 Forthreeforeuclid, pp-5 Danzing Tribal, pp-8 Pinstripe Kid
Analysis: Teafatiller could get a perfect stalking position behind the speed and then take off to the wire. Forthreeforeuclid ran a terrific race last time out to finish 2nd by a 1 ½ lengths. There’s no reason for her not to get there this time around.
Danzing Tribal stretches out and goes back to the turf, the site of her maiden score. Pinstripe Kid goes first time for 40% winning trainer A.C. Avila, gets blinkers, and has run races close to the par for this distance and surface.
5 x 3 x 4 = 60 combinations
$1 Pick 3 = $60
Good luck!
