Super Bowl XLIV Betting Report – Peyton’s Loss Leads To Big Vegas Win
It’s a long told mantra that “the house always wins” and when it came to Super Bowl XLIV, that was certainly the case. Vegas cleared a profit of $6.9 million as the football betting public wagered $82.7 million on Sunday’s upset victory. Turns out that more people bought in to the hype surrounding Peyton Manning, then they did for the eventual and rightful team of destiny.
The Colts opened as 4-point favorites when Vegas opened the line the night of Championship Sunday, and that betting spread quickly ballooned up to 5.5.

Racing at Santa Anita resumes on Wednesday with an 8 race card. Thank goodness that the rains on Tuesday should be less than flood-like on Wednesday. That’s all horseplayers are hoping for on Wednesday…rains less than flood-like.
If that happens, then it should be a great day of racing. More than one race on Wednesday’s Santa Anita card should provide horseplayers with an overlay or two.

They’re off the turf on Wednesday at Santa Anita. That’s okay because the Pick 3 ticket I plan on betting involves three races on Santa Anita’s Pro-Ride surface.
Have the recent rains in SoCal affected the Pro-Ride? It’s doubtful. According to on-track specialists, the Pro-Ride is in good enough condition for racing on Wednesday.

The gushing love fest for Peyton Manning came to a screeching halt at Super Bowl XLIV when he failed to clear the Super Bowl spread and was run out of the building by the Saints. Now just 9-9 SU in the playoffs, Peyton Manning’s legend has returned to Earth to reside amongst the mortals. It’s not like losing the Super Bowl is going to make him any less eligible for the hall of fame when he retires, but people remember the times when a quarterback loses the Super Bowl.
