Monday Night Football – Jags vs. Dolphins and Giants and Panthers
NFL betting is back, and both handicappers and square bettors couldn’t be happier. Yes, it’s only the preseason, but that doesn’t mean there’s not value to be had getting a handle on depth charts and coaching strategies in August.
Bettors are treated to the finale of Week 1 of the preseason schedule on Monday night, with the Jacksonville Jaguars tackling the Miami Dolphins before the Carolina Panthers lock up with the New York Giants.

Strikeforce Main Event – Carano vs. Cyborg
The world of women’s MMA will never be the same after this Saturday as the top two women’s fighters in the world, Gina Carano and Cristiane “Cyborg” Santos, will battle for Strikeforce’s first-ever women’s championship.
Carano has been called the “face of women’s MMA” for her good looks and easy-going, media-friendly personality, while Cyborg seems to be playing the role of the villain in this fight with her intimidating physical presence and businesslike demeanor.
Perhaps it’s a bit telling that Carano, the former American Gladiators star while playing the role of “Crush” and by far the more popular of the two fighters, is still an underdog at BetUS.

Strikeforce undercard odds and predictions
After undergoing more shuffling than a poker deck, the final card is now set for Strikeforce: Carano vs. Cyborg in San Jose, Ca. The main card features the three title fights, but the undercard isn’t too shabby either as it includes a recent UFC Heavyweight Title contender along with some other intriguing prospects.
Fabricio Werdum was perhaps one surprising knockout at the hands of Junior Dos Santos away from a UFC title shot, and now the heavyweight will take on a former UFC also-ran in Mike Kyle. N

NFL Prop Betting – Dallas Cowboys vs. the NFL
The schedule for the Dallas Cowboys is not particularly disagreeable. There is, I guess, a benefit to finishing third among four teams in your division and missing out on the playoffs. Of course, when you have to face the improved Philadelphia Eagles and New York Giants twice, there is never a cakewalk, but there is a little bit of relief in the non-division slate.

NFL PRESEASON BETTING – Game Match-Up 8/15

Vick Loves Dogs and wants to End Dog Fighting?
I love dogs, and apparently, so does Michael Vick. After all, there it is all over the internet hanging out with James Brown, the James Brown from CBS’s 60 Minutes exclaiming how he loves dogs. Not only does he love dogs, but he vows to end dog-fighting. I’m not being fair actually. Vick never said that he “loves dogs”. He just said that he would work to end dog-fighting.

Rogers Cup Quarters – Roddick vs. Djokovic feud continues
Montreal, Canada – As quarterfinal spots at the Montreal Masters slowly get snapped up, one billing has already taken shape, starkly prominent in the draw; that is, the quarterfinal billing between world No.4 Novak Djokovic and world No.5 Andy Roddick. It is no secret that there is no love lost between these two players, but the shared sentiment does not tell the whole story.
Since the 2008 US Open, Djokovic and Roddick have been battling for their position in the rankings and in the media.

WTA Cincinnati Quarters – Jankovic and Dementieva on collision course
Cincinnati, USA – It was a bizarre day at the Western & Southern Financial Group Women’s Open as both Serena Williams and Venus Williams (the No.2 and 3 seeds respectively) were sent packing in the last 16 by relatively non-threatening players Sybille Bammer and Flavia Pennetta. The latter was coming off her biggest title victory at Stanford so perhaps her 7-6(2), 6-4 win over Venus Williams was not so shocking – if it was still an upset where the tennis betting market is concerned.
