Orlando Will Get Revenge – Magic vs. 76ers
April 22, 2009
When Andre Igoudala was drafted ninth overall in the 2004 draft, everyone thought he was the next big swingman. Averaging 18.8 points per game and 5.3 assists during the 2008-09 NBA season lends itself to that idea, but I have doubt overall about the man they call Iggy as the go-to guy on a wonky team that has been all over the NBA betting map.
Igoudala has a decent .473 field goal percentage, but when have you seriously seen him take over a game? I mean, seriously? Is this part of his basketball vernacular? What he did in Game 1 is what we’ve wanted to see from the 6-foot-6 former Arizona Wildcat? I hardly doubt it. At best, Igoudala is a second banana and preachers around the NBA have been scoffing at the idea that he’s an elite NBA player.
NBA Betting Trends
-Philadelphia is 1-5 ATS in its last 6 games
-Philadelphia is 2-6 SU in its last 8 games
-The total has gone OVER in 5 of Philadelphia’s last 5 games
-Philadelphia is 2-5 ATS in its last 7 games on the road
-Philadelphia is 2-5 SU in its last 7 games on the road
-Orlando is 1-4 SU in its last 5 games
-The total has gone UNDER in 6 of Orlando’s last 8 games
-Orlando is 2-4 ATS in its last 6 games at home
-Orlando is 10-3 SU in its last 13 games at home
-The total has gone UNDER in 8 of Orlando’s last 11 games at home
Is he solid? Undoubtedly. Is he on the same level as Brandon Roy, Kobe, LeBron or Dwyane? Is he even close? Not really. Every dog has its day, and overcoming a double-digit deficit to win game one was a huge deal for the Sixers betting faithful. But that only puts Philadelphia at 1-5 ATS in their last 6 games and 2-6 SU in their past 8 games. They’re hardly what you would call a reliable bet.
Philadelphia 76ers vs. Orlando Magic
Wednesday, April 22nd — Amway Arena, Orlando — 7:00pm EST
NBA Betting Line: Orlando -10.5 (193.5)
With eye-gouging, a bitter loss and mounting pressure from their NBA betting faithful, the Orlando Magic have a message for the Sixers. That message is simply that they do not belong on the same court as them. The Magic have been roaring this entire NBA season, despite some late season stumbling, and the Sixers are relying on guys like Theo Ratliff and Donyell Marshall to pull them out of the gutter. Good luck with that.
NBA Free Pick: Orlando -10.5 (UNDER)
