Orlando at Milwaukee – Magic Need to Bounce Back

March 18, 2009

Magic Look To Make Bucks Disappear – Orlando at Milwaukee

The Orlando Magic (49-18 SU, 43-23-1 ATS, 32-35 O/U) had its three-game winning streak snapped on Tuesday night, losing to the Cleveland Cavaliers 97-93 but covered the spread as 6.5-point road underdogs just as I predicted in the BetOnline Locker Room earlier that day.

Veteran point guard Rafer Alston led Orlando with 23 points and five steals while the final score played under the 190-point O/U total.

The Milwaukee Bucks (31-38 SU, 36-31-2 ATS, 38-31 O/U) snapped their two-game losing streak on Sunday, handing the Boston Celtics a surprising 86-77 defeat as a 6-point home underdog while the combined score played Under the posted over/under total of 198 points.

Blossoming forward Charlie Villanueva scored a team-high 19 points for Milwaukee while multi-talented swingman Richard Jefferson added 17 points in the big victory.

Here is a look at tonight’s key trends, followed by my in-depth analysis and NBA Free Picks.

  • Orlando is 5-1 SU in its last 6 games when playing Milwaukee
  • Orlando is 7-2 SU in its last 9 games
  • The total has gone UNDER in 4 of Orlando’s last 6 games when playing Milwaukee
  • Orlando is 4-2 ATS in its last 6 games when playing Milwaukee
  • Milwaukee is 18-3 SU in its last 21 games when playing at home against Orlando
  • Milwaukee is 15-4-2 ATS in its last 21 games when playing at home against Orlando
  • The total has gone OVER in 14 of Milwaukee’s last 20 games at home
  • The total has gone UNDER in 6 of Milwaukee’s last 9 games

NBA Odds:

  • Orlando Magic -5 -110
  • Milwaukee Bucks +5 -110
  • Over 202 -110
  • Under 202 -110

Analysis: While the Milwaukee Bucks have covered the spread in two of the last three meetings, it is the Orlando Magic that has covered the spread in two straight road contests in Milwaukee and four of the last six meetings overall.

Having lost an absolute thriller to the Cavs on Tuesday, I like the offensive-minded Magic to bounce back in a big way by winning – and narrowly covering the spread tonight. I also like the Under for this game as these two teams have played under their set O/U totals in three of the last four meetings.

NBA Free Picks: Orlando -5 Points/Under 202 Total Points
