Online MLB Sportsbook Betting – Reeling BoSox and Reds to Put Opponents to Bed!

April 7, 2011

The Boston Red Sox may still be winless four games into the 2011 MLB regular season, but guess what BetOnline baseball bettors?

The BoSox – and incendiary Cincinnati Reds for that matter – are both looking like solid winners against their respective online MLB sportsbook betting odds tonight.

Let’s take a look at both ballclubs’ respective matchups, followed by my one-of-a-kind online MLB sportsbook betting analysis and expert handicapping picks.

Boston at Cleveland 7:05 PM ET

Progressive Field

TV: MASN, FSN-FL

MLB Odds

Boston Red Sox -1½ +100 -165

Daisuke Matsuzaka –R

Cleveland Indians +1½ -120 +145

Mitch Talbot –R

Over 9½ +110

Under 9½ -130

Analysis: The Red Sox fell to 0-4 on the season by losing to the Indians 3-1 on Tuesday as Josh Beckett allowed three runs in five innings and Cleveland’s Josh Tomlin tossed seven innings of three-hit baseball.

The Red Sox failed to cash in against the BetOnline online MLB sportsbook betting odds as a -160 moneyline favorite but will have the far more accomplished starting pitcher tonight when right-hander Daisuke Matsuzaka goes up against Cleveland right-hander Mitch Talbot.

Prediction: Josh Beckett, Jon Lester and John Lackey get the lion’s share of attention when people talk about Boston’s big-name starters, but I think Dice-K has just as good a chance to be successful as any of the aforementioned three starters and it begins in this contest.

Mitch Talbot went 10-13 with a 4.41 ERA in 28 starts for the Indians last season while Dice-K has compiled an impressive 4-1 record with a solid 2.34 ERA against the Tribe in his career.

The Indians only got five hits in Tuesday’s win, so it’s not like the Tribe is an offensive force or anything.

Keep it simple BetOnline baseball bettors and back the Boston red Sox to finally get their first win of the season while cashing in against the online MLB sportsbook betting Run Line with the minimum two-run win.

MLB Pick: Boston Red Sox -1½ Runs

Houston at Cincinnati 7:10 PM ET

Great American Ball Park

TV: my20, FSN-CIN

MLB Odds

Houston Astros + 1½ -130 +170

Nelson Figueroa –R

Cincinnati Reds -1½ +110 -200

Edinson Volquez –R

Over 8½ -115

Under 8½ -105

Analysis: The lowly Houston Astros and undefeated Cincinnati Reds are already heading in opposite directions and now, the ‘Stros can expect another loss tonight when they face flame-throwing right-hander Edinson Volquez.

The Astros will counter with right-hander Nelson Figueroa, but I’m not buying the fact that the Astros even have a chance against a Reds ballclub that is hitting a collective .338 while averaging 7.8 runs per game.

Cincinnati pounded Houston 8-2 on Tuesday night to cash in against the online MLB sportsbook betting moneyline as a -150 favorite – and I’m expecting another emphatic rout tonight!

Play the impressive Cincinnati Reds to get the job done for manager Dusty Baker tonight while cashing in against the BetOnline Run Line.

MLB Pick: Cincinnati Reds -1 ½ Runs
