Online Betting Fever – Georgetown Vows to Take Cincinnati

March 5, 2011

One of the many trends in Online Betting has to do with teams splitting wins when there are two matchups with conference foes. It’s tough to pull the trigger on a loser at home going to their enemies’ camp for a win.

The Hoyas did just that recently. They lost to Cincinnati at home, but this is closing time for the NCAA Tournament. We’ll see what these boys are made of and if they can make it Wright.

#17 Georgetown Hoyas (21-8) (14-13 ATS) at Cincinnati Bearcats (23-7) (12-10 ATS)

Time: Saturday, March 5th at 2:00 ET
Place: Fifth Third Arena (13,176) – Cincinnati, Ohio

The Bearcats haven’t been available for Online Betting at the Big Dance since 2005, but everything is looking like they will surely end that streak now.

Cincinnati has 3 wins this season against teams in the top 60 of the RPI, and they are ranked 38 themselves. That should just about lock them in for an NCAA Tournament bid this year.

Georgetown is coming off 2 losses in a row (1 to Cincy) and losses in 3 of their last 4 games. Georgetown was taken down by this team at home less than 2 weeks ago 58-46, and they want their steam engine to start gathering speed NOW.

The Hoyas need to focus on taking good shots obviously as they shot a ridiculous 25% from the field in the first contest between these two.

They will still be without their killer guard Chris Wright. He had to get surgery for a broken hand that he suffered against, you guessed it, Cincinnati.

This injury is going to really hurt Georgetown in the NCAA Tournament. They’re losing the second leading scorer on the team and the most fouled for Online Betting hints.

This has hurt the Hoyas as his replacement sophomore F Hollis Thompson. He finished with only 3 points going 0 for 5 from the field in their loss last game to Syracuse 51-58. They also had 16 turnovers to only 9 for the Orange. Freshman Markel Starks better shine for this team to win here.

Yancy Gates had 17 and 11rebounds in that win last time. Georgetown has a learning curve when it comes to people like Gates, so they will be keying on him all game.

Speaking of Gates, he had 11 points and 11 rebounds in their win over Marquette this week 67-60. The key for the Hoyas seems simple here. Shut down Gates who leads the team in points, rebounds and blocks per game. Shut the Gates and find the key.

Cincinnati was 13-0 when they weren’t playing the bullies from the Big East this year. They’re flat out Bears when it comes to giving up points. They’re first in the Big East and 4th in the nation allowing only 58.6 points on average to their opponents.

Georgetown is underrated by the Online Betting point spread in this one people.
