These play-in games are always really hard encounters to call, because neither team really has a legit chance at beating the odds to win NCAA Tournament. To make matters worse in this game, neither team was even the best in their respective conference, as UALR finished with a sub-.500 record in conference play in the regular season before going on a run in the Sun Belt Tournament.

However, the good thing that we can say about Little Rock on the odds to win NCAA Tournament is that this is a team with some grit and some fantastic shooters. Solomon Bozeman knocked down the shot that won the Sun Belt last week, and he is the leading scorer on this team. Bozeman put up 22.0 points per game in the conference tournament, and he’s going to have to be just as big to be able to take out the Big South champs as well.

For UNC Asheville, it’s a shock that this team was able to come out of the No. 3 hole in the Big South Tournament to win the conference crown and make it to have a shot at beating the odds to win NCAA Tournament. The Bulldogs were based upon their offense at the outset of the season, but all of a sudden, they kicked up their defensive intensity down the stretch.

After not holding a single foe in the 40s all season long, the Bulldogs picked a great time to log their first two games like that of the season. They were able to take care of the High Point Panthers, a dreadful offensive team in their own right, but the far more impressive showing was the one against the Coastal Carolina Chanticleers.

The Chants had one of the most impressive mid major teams in the land for quite some time this season, but they really came up short when it mattered most in the Big South finale.

The Bulldogs have the goods to shut down UALR, and it is going to show on Tuesday night. UNCA will beat the odds to win NCAA Tournament and move on to try to tame the No. 1 overall seed in this tournament, the Ohio State Buckeyes.

SLAM THE BULLDOGS!
