College Football Betting Odds: Fla. Atlantic favored at -10.

The Owls are fortunate to see the Mean Green enter the game in a state of disarray on offense. Actually to say that the Mean Green are in a state of disarray might even be an understatement. North Texas lost starting QB Nathan Tune and then backup Derek Thompson broke his leg.

Considering that mid-major programs like North Texas often don’t have the best backups to begin with, it’s understandable that third-stringer Riley Dodge would struggle. UNT got blown out and shut out by Army last week by a score of 24-0 and that bodes very poorly going into this weekend’s game according to many who dispense college football betting advice.

The Owls have what it takes to get after Dodge, who only passed for 63 yards on a completion percentage that was less than 50% against a poor opponent. They’d better because he has some weapons at WR. But so do the Owls, who boast a solid passing offense and the home field advantage to make it all work.

The Owls don’t have one of the better home field advantages around but their fans are a bit underrated in terms of the passion they show for the program.

If Florida Atlantic can put even a little bit of pressure on dodge they should win this one handily.
