No. 21 Utah State to Cruise Against ‘Bet Basketball’ Odds in WAC Rout over Louisiana Tech

March 5, 2011

The 21st-ranked Utah State Aggies (27-3 SU, 14-12-1 ATS, 12-14-1 O/U) will almost assuredly be facing a huge ‘Bet Basketball’ college hoops spread when they visit the lowly Louisiana Tech Bulldogs (12-19 SU, 11-13-1 ATS, 10-13-2 O/U) in their Western Athletic Conference regular season finale.

Key Betting Trends

• Aggies are 3-0-1 ATS in their last 4 Saturday games.

• Aggies are 4-0 ATS in their last 4 games vs. a team with a winning percentage below .400.

• Bulldogs are 1-5-1 ATS in their last 7 games overall.

• Bulldogs are 0-5-1 ATS in their last 6 vs. Western Athletic.

• Aggies are 1-4 ATS in the last 5 meetings.

Analysis: The Aggies are on fire and have won five consecutive games coming into this contest including their narrow 58-54 win over New Mexico State on Wednesday. Utah State placed four players in double figures in scoring but failed to cash in against the online bet basketball college hoops odds as a 7-point road favorite.

Louisiana Tech has lost three straight games and a whopping seven of eight overall, including its heartbreaking 73-70 loss to Nevada on Thursday. Despite shooting a blistering 56.8 percent from the field, the Bulldogs failed to cover the NCAAB bet basketball odds as a 2-point home underdog to fall to 0-3 ATS over its last three games.

Prediction: Utah State is going to run roughshod all over the beleaguered Bulldogs tonight and routed their conference counterparts 74-57 on Jan. 20 despite narrowly failing to cash in against the college hoops bet basketball odds as a whopping 20.5-point home favorite.

Utah State averages just about seven points per game more than the Bulldogs while also allowing 10 fewer points per game defensively for a whopping 17-point scoring differential.

The Aggies are the better shooting team and better defensive field goal unit as well and will be favored to win their conference tournament when it gets underway next week in Las Vegas.

Louisiana Tech will see its 2010-11 season come to an abrupt halt tonight as only the top eight teams in the conference qualify for the WAC tournament.

If the NCAAB bet basketball spread doesn’t go too far over 20 points, I say back the Utah State Aggies to rock and roll all the way to a sweet bet basketball payday. If the spread tops, let’s say, 22 points, I’d back the lowly Bulldogs.

Bet Basketball Pick: Utah State 75 Louisiana Tech 55
