NHL Betting – Will Philadelphia Survive Another Game?
The Boston Bruins are truly rolling and Friday night’s Game 4 represents an opportunity to advance to their first Conference Final since 1992. The Philadelphia Flyers stand in their way and despite being down 3-0 in the series; the Flyers are a proud bunch that will be looking to give their orange clad hometown crowd one more thing to cheer about this season.

Boston leads series 3-0
Boston Bruins: +105
The Boston Bruins got outplayed on Wednesday night but walked away from the Wachovia center with a commanding 3-0 series lead. When things are going right for a team, they will find a way to win. The Bruins have either been tied or have had the lead for all but 1:39 of the series so far and have obviously done a good job protecting their leads.
Boston only generated 20 shots on goal in Game 3 but converted on four of them. Blake Wheeler scored his first of the post season, Miroslav Satan continued his playoff tear with a goal, and Mark Recchi and Patrice Bergeron also tallied for the confident Bruins. Boston’s effective forward David Krejci is reportedly lost for the season which leaves another hole up front for the Bruins to fill.
The story of Game 3 and of Boston’s season was the play of Tuukka Rask. It is no fluke that the Bruins owned the second best team goals against average in the NHL. Rask made 34 saves on Tuesday night and continues to be a series difference maker.
Puckline: Boston +1.5 (-290): Philadelphia: -1.5 (240)
Philadelphia Flyers: -125
The Philadelphia Flyers have to be a disheartened bunch. They have played decent hockey in the series and yet they remain winless. In Game 3 they were only able to register one goal on 35 shots. Between the injuries, the confident play of their competitors and the hot goaltending of Tuukka Rask, it does not appear as if it is the Flyers year.
Despite the 35 shots that the Flyers generated in Game 3, their best players finally had a less than stellar outing. Mike Richards was held pointless and only manage one shot on goal while Chris Pronger only got one shot. Both players have been averaging well over 25 minutes of ice time per night and could be finally wearing down. Good news in the form of Simone Gagne possible starting in Game 4 which would significantly bolster the offense.
Brian Boucher, where have you gone? Philadelphia’s reliance on Boucher had to catch up to them sometime. I am surprised that it didn’t catch up to them earlier.
The Philadelphia Flyers deserve at least one win in this series. They have competed hard in every game so far but do not have a win to show for it. Justice will prevail on Friday night. The Flyers will get their win and force the Bruins to play another day.
NHL Betting Pick: Philadelphia Flyers -125
