NFL Spread Betting Tips – How To Play Philadelphia-Dallas Sunday Night
December 11, 2010
Neither the Dallas Cowboys nor the Philadelphia Eagles expected to have their backup quarterbacks defending their NFL spread betting hopes. While some saw it conceivable that Michael Vick could eventually wrestle the starting job away from Kevin Kolb, nobody could’ve foreseen the Dallas Cowboys thriving with Jason Garrett as head coach…and Jon Kitna as their quarterback.
Before we do our usually drooling over Michael Vick and the Philadelphia Eagles, we have to get the recent surge of the Dallas Cowboys in perspective. I mean, this is virtually the same team as it’s always been and suddenly they’ve turned around their season and become an NFL spread betting monster by going 3-1 SU and 4-0 ATS.

Obviously nothing made bigger noise last weekend than Dallas upending Peyton Manning and the Colts. It’s not just their defense, which has come up with timely picks and big time stops, doing all the work either. Their offense has gained 302.8 total yards of offense in the last four games and all of those have led to spread victories.
The ball will be much more difficult to move without star rookie Dez Bryant on the field. Bryant was put on the shelf for the season, meaning that the team will lose its second best offensive weapon. That should tank this game for us in NFL spread betting, but they also started surging with Tony Romo hitting the shelf as well.
Philadelphia Eagles (8-4) vs. Dallas Cowboys (4-8)
Sunday, December 12th — Cowboys Stadium — 8:20pm EST
NFL Spread Betting Line: Philadelphia -3.5 (49.5)
As for the Eagles, there isn’t much that I can say that people don’t already know. Their offense has been brilliant with Michael Vick. They’ve averaged 440.0 yards per game in their last five outings with a loss to the Bears putting a dent in their streak. The Eagles are 4-1 SU and ATS in the last five games as well.
Dallas is very much equipped to slow down Michael Vick defensively, but you simply can’t account for the amount of stagnation that the Cowboys will suffer without Bryant. They become so much more one-dimensional without Bryant on the field and though this game is in Dallas, I think that actually lends itself to Philadelphia’s advantage.
Speed is a killer when you’re playing the Eagles, and I mean that on both sides of the ball. The turf will allow Vick to have his way on offense, and Kitna will be running for his life as the Eagles haunt him all night. I know that Dallas has been great in NFL spread betting, but all good things must come to an end and that means the Eagles get a nice cover on a relatively tight line in the UNDER.
