NFL Spread Betting – Redskins vs. Titans
November 21, 2010
Coming off one of the worst NFL spread losses of the season, Donovan McNabb and the Washington Redskins head to Tennessee to take on the Titans in Week 11 of NFL action.
Sunday, Nov 21 @ 1pm EST on CBS
Football Odds: Washington Redskins (+7) vs. Tennessee Titans (-7)
Total: 44
The NFL betting spread favors the Titans by a touchdown at home – assuming the Redskins played like last week, this will be a cakewalk.

Despite the newly acquired Randy Moss, the Titans have only put up 180.6 passing yards/game – good for 31 st overall in the league. With LaRon Landry out and the weak Redskins secondary, look for the Titans to throw the ball a bit more. Nate Washington and Moss should open up the field for power-house Chris Johnson. The Titans are coming off two straight losses and will be fired up for this home game.
They may be favored by a touchdown, but this is a must-win situation for the Tennessee Titans – they won’t be thinking about the cover as they hit the field. They’re 5-4 straight up on the season, and will need the victory to stay in the tight AFC South. In a good play for bettors, it’s in the Titans best interest to keep this game out of Washington’s reach.
The Redskins are limited at the skill positions – with injuries to RBs Clinton Portis and Ryan Torain – and McNabb has been ineffective. They’re in the bottom half of the league for moving the ball – getting only 235/game passing. As mentioned before, their defense has been even worse.
Washington Redskins will need a complete game to win, or cover this matchup – they have only covered once in their past four games.
The ‘skins have scored an average of 20.3 points/game, giving up 25.4. Conversely, the Titans are putting up 26.8, allowing 19.9. When I look at those stats, it makes me really look at the 44 point total. Despite predicting a Titans cover, I like the Under as well. Expect a slow-pace to this game, as the Titans will look for long drives in a clock controlling effort.
When you are betting on the NFL spread this Sunday, take the home team and give up the touchdown. Look at the Under as the secondary value play in this matchup.
