NFL Spread Betting Picks – Oakland at San Francisco

October 17, 2010

It’s a bay area showdown between two talented-but-underachieving teams when the 49ers and Raiders hook up Sunday in an NFL spread betting matchup.
Both teams are in desperate need of a victory and both have major QB issues among others.

Who will come out with a victory and a chance at renewed playoff optimism?

NFL odds:

49ers favored at -6 ½

So, are the 49ers really a true solid NFL team or is their record actually a good indicator of where they’re actually at as a team right now?

They had a lot of hype going into the season but much of it was due to the poor division they play in, the AFC West.

The Niners are not an 0-4 caliber team, that much is for sure, and they’ve definitely had some bad luck along the way.

Conversely, they’re really not a full touchdown better than the Raiders at this point, not with the way they’ve been playing, anyway.

The 49ers have the motivation edge however as they know the absolutely have to have this game to stick up for the people who still think they have a good chance to win the division, including themselves.

Alex Smith has to play better of the boo birds will be out en masse in this one.

The key for the Raiders in this NFL spread betting matchup will be to get pressure with the front four and slow down the run game.

But a hand or two on Frank Gore isn’t going to do much so Gore will get his yards much of the game.

The 49ers will have to grind this one out against an athletic Raiders defense, however.

This should be an ugly one but in the end the 49ers have the will to win this one. It just won’t be enough from a football spread betting perspective to get the job done this time around at home with so much pressure on them.
