After releasing quarterback Matt Leinart immediately following the end of the preseason, Arizona decided to go with ex-Cleveland Brown Derek Anderson. Just two games into the regular season however, Anderson and the sputtering Cardinals offense must be making Arizona fans wonder just how bad could Leinart have been?

Anderson threw his lone touchdown of the season against the St. Louis Rams in Week 1 and had no scores in Week 2 versus the Falcons instead, throwing two costly interceptions.

Oakland’s pass defense, meanwhile, has been surprisingly strong, allowing an average of just 206 passing yards per game a year ago, good for 7th in the NFL.

On the other hand, the Oakland Raiders offense, ranked 28th in the NFL passing last season, doesn’t seem to have made any real improvements starting Jason Campbell this season instead of JaMarcus Russell.

Campbell was benched last week, after throwing his second interception of the year as the Raiders turned to back-up Bruce Gradkowski to lead Oakland to a 16-14 victory over the Rams.

Gradkowski is slated to start against Arizona this week, and it should be interesting to see if he is more efficient than Campbell as the leader of a struggling Raider offense and franchise.

The only upside on Oakland’s offense seems to be the emergence of running back Darren McFadden, who has totaled 240 rushing yards so far this NFL spread betting season.

Marshall Mention: The Cardinals and Raiders have yet to score more than 17 points in any game this NFL spread betting season.

NFL Spread Betting Pick: Bet on the under (39.5).
