NFL Spread Betting on MNF – Eagles Visit McNabb, Redskins

November 15, 2010

If Michael Vick and the Philadelphia Eagles want to restore the faith of their fans completely, they’ll have to pick up a big victory on the road against the Washington Redskins in NFL spread betting. That may not be an easy task considering that McNabb and the Skins are coming off a bye week, playing at home while carrying a 5-2-1 ATS record this season.

Still, Philadelphia might not have to do a lot of work if Washington continues to implode from the inside out like it has over the past few weeks.

Mike Shanahan did the unthinkable two weekends ago against the Lions when he benched McNabb in the final two minutes for Sexy Rexy, leading to a game winning fumble recovery touchdown by Detroit. The move was panned by a massive amount of critics and has spurned a lot of talk that a rift has permanently formed between the coach and quarterback.

It’s the sort of thing that can kill a team like the fragile Washington Redskins, and make them a stay away in NFL spread betting despite all the advantages they should have in this game.

Philadelphia Eagles (5-3) vs. Washington Redskins (4-4)
Monday, November 15th — FedEX Field — 8:30pm EST

NFL Spread Betting: Philadelphia -3.0 (42.5)

If any team has plagued the Eagles in NFL spread betting, it’s Washington. Philadelphia is 1-4 ATS in their last 5 games against the Skins. While they may be 8-2 SU in their past 10 games when visiting our nation’s capital, they’re also just 2-4 ATS in the last 6 visits.

Which is mind blowing when you consider that Washington only covers in 25-percent of their games at home (6-11-1 ATS in past 18 home games). A lot of that should change with McNabb under center, but any promise Washington showed this week in NFL spread betting  for the few that thought they could handle Vick and the Eagles has vanished.

The Eagles play inspired with Vick at the helm. You could tell just how invigorated they were against Indianapolis. They’ll ride that momentum not just because they’re playing their old leader – the fact that this is a divisional matchup means all cylinders will be firing anyways.

Washington’s in-house fighting might not be that big of a deal. It might just all be a misunderstanding. Smoke and mirrors. Who cares. It’s not like you were going to take Washington in NFL spread betting against a formidable team like Philly.

This is where the race for the division title gets heated, so don’t expect Philadelphia to come in flat as they still trail the New York Giants. The Eagles can’t afford another slip up against the Redskins, and provided that Vick doesn’t go down with another injury, they won’t fail their NFL spread betting investors in the rematch.
