NFL Spread Betting – Chicago Bears vs. Buffalo Bills in Toronto
November 6, 2010
Football is back in Canada and it’s time for some NFL spread betting as the Buffalo Bills host the Chicago Bears for some Week 9 action. The Bills are winless on the season and the Bears are trying to pick up the pieces on a season that looks good in the win column.
Sunday, November 7 @ 1pm
NFL Betting Odds: Bears (-3) vs. Bills (+3)
Total: 40.5
It is a weird season for the Chicago Bears. You would think, based on the mood around the team that they are near the basement of the league – yet they sit in second place in the tough NFC North, a game out from the first place Green Bay Packers.
The Bears are coming off a bye week, but the week before that lost a game to the Washington Redskins on a mistake filled game by Jay Cutler that amounted to four interceptions by DeAngelo Hall. The Bears are 3-point spread betting favorites in this matchup that takes place in Toronto.
Both teams are 3-4 ATS on the season, while Buffalo Bills has covered their last two games as underdogs.

Chicago Offense v. Buffalo Defense
The Bears have had their problems on offense this year. Matt Forte is averaging less than 4 yards per carry and Jay Cutler has thrown as many interceptions as touchdowns. Let’s not forget about the game where the Giants racked up double-digit sacks against the Chicago Bears offensive line.
However, these problems pale in comparison to the issues the Bills have faced on defense. An oddly good defense in 2009, the Bills turnover on the coaching staff has left their team in disarray and their defense has been completely inept. It should be a rare very good day for Jay Cutler and the Chicago Bears. The Bills are a paltry 32 nd against the pass – giving a great opportunity for screen passes to Forte as he dominates this weak secondary.
Buffalo Offense v. Chicago Defense
Ryan Fitzpatrick has been a surprise this year having 3 very good games mixed in with 2 poor performances (versus the Chiefs and the Jets). Nevertheless, he has looked very good at times – bringing the Bills to 13 th in passing in the league. However, the Bears defense is what has brought them to 4-3 and kept them in the playoff hunt.
Their run defense is excellent and should present problems for the Buffalo Bills forcing them to rely heavy on Ryan Fitzpatrick and I am not convinced that he will ever be ready for such a role.
Pick: Chicago (-3)
The Bears are not a pretty team to watch but the Bills are downright ugly. Further, they match up pretty well against the run-heavy Bills. Chicago should shut down their offense and cruise to a win.
