NFL Spread Betting – Chicago to Destroy Minnesota Monday Night

December 20, 2010

With the quarterback situation and the stadium situation for the Minnesota Vikings cloudy at best, the art of NFL Spread Betting has been becoming clearer by the minute. With every passing hour, it is becoming more evident that the Chicago Bears will have the honor of facing rookie Joe Webb or journeyman Patrick Ramsey when they take to the field Monday night.

CHICAGO BEARS (9-4) vs. MINNESOTA VIKINGS (5-8)
Monday, December 20, 8:30 PM ET
TCF Bank Stadium, Minneapolis, Minnesota
Broadcast: ESPN

NFL Spread Betting Lines:

***With the uncertainty at Quarterback and the Venue issues, the Lines for this game have yet to be established. Obviously, the Bears will be favorites – the Spread has yet to be determined!***

The Minnesota Viking fate is sealed and it looks like their days of being NFL Spread Betting favorites are over! Tavarris Jackson has been placed on injured reserve and Brett Favre appears to have given up on the notion of playing football again this season. Hey, there’s always next season right Brett?

The Chicago Bears have been an NFL Spread Betting disaster when playing inside the Metrodome – they have lost six of their last seven games indoors. A move outside to the TCF Bank Stadium should benefit this team who, before last week, was deemed one of the best cold weather teams in the NFL. Overall, Chicago has won five of six and while looking like world beaters at times, they have had a propensity for underwhelming efforts.

The Chicago offense is statistically in the bottom third of the NFL. Despite a 9-4 record, the Bears have the 26th best passing offense (192.85 yards per game) and the 25th ranked running game (98.62 yards per game). Chances are that they will not have to do much against the uber-depleted Vikings in this one.

Chicago’s defense must be licking its chops ahead of their Monday Night NFL Spread Betting matchup against a quarterback that hasn’t taken a snap this season. The 18th ranked pass D doesn’t have to worry and the 2nd ranked run defense could be #1 after Sunday’s tilt. They will stack the box and stop Adrian Peterson – case closed!

Minnesota’s defense may hold them in Monday night’s game for a while but with little or no offense, they are sure to be on the field a whole lot. Although I thought I would never say it, I actually feel sorry for the Vikings and their fans!

NFL Spread Betting Outlook:

The Chicago Bears are 5-1 SU in their last six games and 6-1 SU in their last seven on the road but are 5-10-1 ATS in their last 16 games away from home. Chicago is 1-7 SU in their last eight games on the road versus the Vikings and is 1-4 ATS in their last five trips to Minnesota.

Minnesota is 2-6 ATS in their last eight games but is 13-3 SU in their last 16 games at home. They are 2-4 ATS in their last six games against Chicago but are 7-1 SU in their last eight home games versus the Bears.

Unless April Fool’s Day is actually in the third week of December, it looks like Brett Favre has played his last game and Tavarris Jackson won’t play again this season. Minnesota simply is not going to be competitive on offense without them. Good Luck Leslie Frazier – your audition has just become a “casting couch scenario” if you know what I mean!
