That’s right, the Vikings finally made the move that everyone’s been waiting for, as after losing seven of their first 10 games, Minnesota has fired Brad Childress and replaced him with former defensive coordinator Leslie Frazier.

And Frazier is coming aboard not a moment too soon, as this team is coming off one of the most embarrassing losses in recent franchise history, falling to the Green Bay Packers 31-3 last Sunday. If Frazier is to have any luck in his new role, it starts with quarterback Brett Favre.

By now we all know the story with Favre, as he and the Vikings entered the NFL Sports Betting season with high expectations, only to see them fade away one interception at a time. Minnesota’s veteran quarterback has now thrown 17 picks through 10 games, after throwing just seventotal a season ago.

As for Washington, they enter this weekend’s matchup in much better shape than their opponents, in large part because of an overtime victory last Sunday against the Tennessee Titans. While the win wasn’t the prettiest of the season, it put the Redskins back at .500 and in the hunt for a wild card berth.

So what was the difference in last week’s win? Actually, it was quarterback Donovan McNabb. The veteran has come under a lot of fire this season, including a disappointing three interception effort two Monday’s ago against Philadelphia.

However to McNabb’s credit he rebounded with one of the best games of his season last Sunday, completing 30 passes for 376 yards and a touchdown.

However, as good as McNabb was just a week ago, Sunday afternoon is about the Vikings and Frazier. Because of it, take Minnesota as your NFL Sports Betting pick.

If we learned one thing over the last few weeks, it’s that sometimes, the best thing you can do is let a coach go when he loses the locker room.

That happened two weeks ago in Dallas, and the Cowboys have responded with a 2-0 record, and it happened in Minnesota. Expect the Vikings to play with a renewed sense of energy Sunday.

And really, the Vikings need to do, is get a slightly better effort from Favre. What few people realize is that despite his struggles, the Minnesota running game and defense are still as good as ever.

Running back Adrian Peterson is second in the NFL with 980 yards, and the defense is as good as it was a year ago when Minnesota got the NFC Championship Game.

The Vikings are allowing just 317 yards per game which is 10th in the NFL. As long as Favre is a little more careful with the ball, Minnesota can beat anyone on their schedule.

With a new coach, and a new outlook on the season, expect Minnesota to give their best effort Sunday. They may no longer be playing for a playoff spot, but for a veteran team, they might be playing for something even more important: Pride.

The only NFL Sports Betting pick to make here is the Vikings.

NFL Betting Odds: Minnesota +2
