NFL Sports Betting Made Easy When Top-Seeded Pats Host Perplexing Dolphins
January 1, 2011
Looking for a Week 17 NFL sports betting wager to cash in on during the 2010 NFL regular season’s final week?
Then Sunday’s AFC East divisional matchup between the New England Patriots and Miami Dolphins looks like a great place to start gridiron gamblers.
With the top seed in the AFC – and home-field advantage already theirs – the Pats don’t have a whole lot to play for in their Week 17 matchup against the Dolphins when the two longtime rivals square off at Gillette Stadium on Sunday at 1:00 PM ET.

NFL Odds
New England -4
Over/Under 44
Miami 411
The Dolphins (7-8 SU, 8-7 ATS, 6-9 O/U) have lost two straight games in falling to Buffalo in Week 15 before falling to Detroit 34-27 last Sunday. Miami has failed to cash in against the NFL sports betting line in each contest to fall to an uninspiring 1-3 ATS over its last four games coming into this contest.
New England 411
New England (13-2 SU, 9-5-1 ATS, 12-3 O/U) has won a whopping seven consecutive contests including its 34-3 smackdown over the Buffalo Bills in their Week 16 divisional matchup. The Pats covered the online sports betting odds in that game as a 9-point favorite to move to 4-1 ATS in their last five games.
Analysis: Okay NFL gridiron gamblers, I know Patriots head coach Bill Belichick won’t play Tom Brady or many of his starters for very long, but I say it doesn’t matter as the Pats almost assuredly roll all over the beleaguered Dolphins.
Tom Brady has thrown 24 touchdowns and no picks in his last 10 games and the Patriots have an unheard-of nine turnovers going into their regular season finale.
The Pats have not turned the ball over at all during the course of their seven-game winning streak while topping the 30-point plateau in every single contest which is something that has never been done before.
Miami has turned the ball over a whopping 11 times in its last four games and ranks a dismal 30th in the NFL in scoring (17.7 ppg).
Miami quarterback Chad Henne has drawn a bunch of criticism recently after compiling a pitiful 66.9 percent passer rating in his last four games
Prediction: The Patriots intercepted Henne three times and backup quarterback Tyler Thigpen once in their 41-14 road win over the Fins in early October and believe they will do so again tonight no matter how long their starters play as Miami gets set for an offseason overhaul that includes getting rid of head coach Tony Sparano first and foremost.
