The 49ers (5-10 SU, 5-10 ATS, 8-6-1 O/U) looked as dysfunctional as ever in their 25-17 Week 16 loss to Sam Bradford and the St. Louis Rams. San Francisco failed to cover the NFL sports betting odds as a 2-point road underdog while playing Over the O/U Total for the third rime in its last four games.

Analysis: I don’t think many people know just what to expect out of either team in this matchup with so many question marks surrounding each team in this Underachievers Bowl matchup.

However, I am fairly certain that the bigger underachiever in this contest (San Francisco) is not going to be able to cover the NF sports betting spread as a near touchdown favorite.

The Road team in this division rivalry has gone 9-1 ATS in the last 10 meetings while the Underdog has compiled an impressive 7-2 mark against the pro football sports betting line.

Prediction: Despite allowing four more points per game than their counterparts, the Cards are averaging exactly one point per game more than the Niners and I think that should be good enough to allow them to cash in as six-point road dogs in this one.

I also like the Under to play out for NFL sports betting buffs in this matchup after going 4-1 in the last five meetings in San Francisco.
