NFL Sports Betting – Atlanta vs St Louis

November 21, 2010

An NFL Betting pick that I’m all over this week is the Atlanta Falcons/St Louis Rams game. I know the Falcons don’t play as well on the road as they do at home, but I think they’re one of the most well rounded teams in the NFL.

Not only that, but they’ve had a few extra days to rest up for this one and take on a Rams team that are doing some things well this season, but still are nowhere near the level of Atlanta.

Atlanta Falcons vs. St. Louis Rams (Edward Jones Dome – St Louis, MO)

Sunday, November 14th – 4:05 PM ET

TV: FOX

Sam Bradford has already shown he deserved to be taken first overall in last year’s entry draft. He’s led his team to some big wins over the likes of the San Diego Chargers and Washington Redskins, but he’s taking on a quarterback in Matt Ryan that is quickly ascending the ranks to one of the more elite signal callers in the NFL. Granted he’s done most of his damage in the Georgia Dome, but he’s led this team to some very impressive victories, including last week’s comeback win over the Baltimore Ravens.

NFL Sports Betting Spread:

Atlanta Falcons -3, -165

St. Louis Rams +145

Total – 43

Against a very tough Ravens D, Ryan completed 32 passes for 316 yards and three touchdowns, including the winning score to Roddy White, by far his favorite target. Ryan and White have connected 70 times this year for 934 yards putting White second in the league in receiving yards, while his seven touchdowns catches is good for fifth place, making them one of the best NFL Sports Betting pairs in the league.

Then you’ve got Michael Turner to worry about as the hulking back has racked up 733 yards and five touchdowns on the year. And when you’ve got those kinds of weapons through the air and on the ground, it makes Atlanta very tough to stop. And although the Rams defence has been much improved under Steve Spagnuolo, they’re going to find stopping the Falcons is a very daunting task.

Here are some NFL Sports Betting Trends for this one:

  • Over is 4-0 in the last 4 meetings.
  • Favorite is 6-1 ATS in their last 7 meetings.
  • Home team is 5-1 ATS in their last 6 meetings.
  • Falcons are 3-8 ATS in their last 11 meetings.
  • Falcons are 1-4 ATS in their last 5 meetings in St. Louis.

I want to give St Louis a chance, but I just don’t see it. Atlanta is playing too good right now and with only a three point cover, they are an NFL Sports Betting Lock in my opinion.

NFL Sports Betting Picks: Atlanta (-3)
