NFL Regular Season Picks

The NFL regular season is almost done and then we’re on to the NFL playoffs. Let’s look at some of the teams fighting for playoffs spots and include them in our football teaser picks this week.

This week we’ll include make a pick from the Redskins-Jaguars, Titans-Chiefs and Chargers-Bengals games. The Jaguars, Chiefs and Chargers are all in tight races to make the playoffs, actually the Chiefs and Chargers are in the same playoff fight to win the AFC West.

Washington Redskins +7  -105

The Redskins covered the spread last week against the Dallas Cowboys after getting a huge game from Rex Grossman. Remember him? Donovan McNabb should be under center this week and he’ll have a bur in his bonnet.  It’s not enough to make me pick the Jaguars who have been playing solid football this season. The Jags will get a big game from David Garrard and Maurice Jones-Drew but still I’d feel better about the Jags if we teased the line down to -6 in a football teaser pick.

Tennessee Titans        +5  -110

Kansas City Chiefs      -5  -110

The Titans need a miracle to make the playoffs and going into the New Arrowhead Stadium, they aren’t likely to find one.  The Chiefs are the best running team in football this season and Jamal Charles and Thomas Jones should continue their jab, jab knockout strategy this week against the Titans 13th best run defense. Still the Titans could take advantage of the Chiefs 19th best pass defense with Kerry Collins and Kenny Britt. Tease the Chiefs down to +1 in case there’s a close game.

San Diego Chargers    -7½  -115

Cincinnati Bengals      +7½  -105

The San Diego Chargers are breathing down the necks of the Kansas City Chiefs. They only need to tie the Chiefs record as they hold the tougher schedule tiebreaker over Kansas City. After watching the Chargers come from behind to win the past three AFC West titles, Chiefs fans won’t breathe easy until week 17 is complete. The Chargers face the Bengals this week who won for the first time since week three last week.

SD RB Mike Tolbert should have a monster game against the Bengals poor run defense. Still after the Chargers put up a stinker against the Raiders just a few weeks ago, I’d feel better if the Chargers were teased down to -1½ points in our football teaser picks.
