NFL Predictions Week 16 – Full Schedule Preview and Picks

Week 16 is upon us – time for some NFL Predictions Week 16. There is still a whack of teams fighting for playoff positions – it should be yet another week of intriguing outcomes. Below is a breakdown of every Week 16 matchup and who should not only win straight up, but should beat the spread.

Carolina at Pittsburgh (-13 ½): Total – 37 points

It is difficult to imagine that the Panthers will be able to compete in this game. The only thing that Carolina can do well is run the ball and against the league’s stingiest run defense, this should be an easy win for the Steelers. Weather could be a factor in this game, so consider the Under as both teams try to grind it out on the ground. Steelers big in this one!

 NFL Predictions Week 16: Pittsburgh Steelers -13 ½ and the Under

Dallas (-6 ½) at Arizona: Total – 44 ½ points 

Both teams have miserable defenses going into this tilt but there is one huge advantage for the Cowboys – they can actually score points! Dallas has played hard under Jason Garrett and with the Cardinals losing to possibly the worst team in the NFL last week; I just can’t back Arizona, no matter the Spread. The Over may be a good play here as well – the teams combine to give up nearly 60 points per game and the Total is currently set at 44 ½.

New England (-8) at Buffalo: Total – 44 points

The New England Patriots had a tough game last week but it was against a Top Tier defense. The Bills certainly are not a Top Tier squad. Tom Brady lights up the Buffalo secondary and the Pats easily cover the eight points.

NY Jets at Chicago

In a battle of two great defenses, this has a chance to be the game of the weekend. The Jets showed a lot last week, on the road in Pittsburgh and the Bears had their way with the Minnesota Vikings. It looks as though the Jets have exorcised their demons and could surprise this week against a team that has sewn up their division. I like the Jets and their motivation factor in this one.

Baltimore (-3) at Cleveland: Total – 39 ½ points

The Cleveland Browns laid an egg last week and it is unfathomable to think that Baltimore is only favored by only three points in this one. Baltimore has graduated to elite status and should easily run away with this one.

Tennessee at Kansas City (-5): Total – 42 ½ points

Kansas City is a different team with Matt Cassel at the helm – that much is certain. They still have a lot of work to do in order to hold off the Chargers and will be highly motivated to keep the roll going. However, the Titans played well last week and their rushing offense should keep this game closer than the five points. I like the Chiefs to win but in a close, run heavy, low scoring game.

San Francisco at St. Louis (-2): Total – 39 ½ points

Both of these teams were absolutely brutal last week and should be poised to bounce back this week. The Rams still have a lot to play for and at home, they won`t be denied. San Francisco has been a poor road team all season and the Rams have been fairly good at home. I`ll take the motivation in this one.

Detroit at Miami (-3 ½): Total – 41 ½ points 

Miami remains winless at home this season and now take on a team that is certainly better than their record. The Detroit defense has been great the last six weeks and I think that they give Chad Henne and company fits on Sunday. Pick the upset!

Minnesota at Philadelphia

Joe Webb will certainly get the start in this one, making this an easy pick. The lines have not been established yet but the Eagles are certain to be double digit favorites. No spread scares me!

Seattle at Tampa Bay (-6): Total – 43 ½ points

How in the world are the Seahawks still in a playoff race. Their road woes are well documented and their inability to win when travelling across country is astounding. Seattle`s offense is totally out of sync and their defense stops nobody.

Washington at Jacksonville (-7): Total – 45 ½ points

The Washington Redskins were impressive last week although they needed a huge comeback to make the games close. The Jags are still playing hard and I think that they win the game. The spread however is a bit too rich for me. Rex Grossman will throw all game long and the Jags are brutal against the pass.

Houston (-2 ½) at Denver: Total – 48 points 

The Houston Texans have a dynamic offense and it looks like the Fantasy MVP of the season, Arian Foster will suit up on Sunday. I know that the Texans defense is an issue but there is no way that the Tebow led, Morenoless Broncos team will be able to keep up with the high energy Texans.

Indianapolis (-3) at Oakland: Total – 47 points

This should be a close game – Darren McFadden should have a ton of room to roam. However, expect Peyton Manning`s “A-Game” to show up and the Colts to pull away in the end.

NY Giants at Green Bay

This game depends once again on Aaron Rodgers’ availability. The lines aren’t out yet but expect the Giants to be favored in this one. If Rodgers plays, it will be a close game. If not, the Giants will roll in a big way. The Giants win wither way!

San Diego (-7) at Cincinnati: Total – 44 points

The San Diego Chargers made a huge statement on Thursday Night and with Vincent Jackson back in the fold, they could be unstoppable for the rest of the regular season. The Chargers defense will give Carson Palmer fits on the way to an easy victory on Sunday
