NFL Predictions for the Wild Card Weekend
January 6, 2011
The regular season is done and we’re on the playoffs, let’s make some NFL betting predictions for wild card weekend. Looking over the lines you’ll notice a couple of the home teams are underdogs.
They won their division but the NFL odds makers feel the KC Chiefs and the Seattle Seahawks are fighting from the bottom in their wild card weekend matchups. Here are my NFL predictions for wild card weekend.

New Orleans Saints -10½ -110 -550
Game Total 44
Seattle Seahawks +10½ -110 +425
The New Orleans Saints looked like they turned the corner after their big win over the Falcons a couple of weeks ago but they dropped the final game of the regular season to Tampa Bay. The Seahawks won the NFC West but really, they only won 7 games all season.
Against the spread, the Seahawks and the Saints had an identical 7-9 record. The Saints are just 3-5 ATS on the road and Seattle is 5-3 ATS at home. This line is inflated account for the square money that comes with playoff football. Take the Seahawks +10½.
New York Jets +2½ -110 +120
Game Total 44½
Indianapolis Colts -2½ -110 -140
Peyton Manning seems to be over his midseason hiccup and that’s good news for the Colts. The Jets are still burning from losing last year’s AFC conference final game and will be looking for revenge. Unfortunately for the Jets, 2011 isn’t the year they get their revenge. I like the Colts as long as the line stays on the good side of 3 points. Take the Colts -2½.

Baltimore Ravens -3 -115 -170
Game Total 40½
Kansas City Chiefs +3 -105 +150
The Baltimore Ravens have come into wild card weekend having won four straight and six of their last seven. The early betting betters NFL predictions for this wild card weekend game are expecting the Ravens to roll as 70% at backing the Ravens at -3.
The Chiefs were almost perfect at home this season, Matt Cassel, Dwayne Bowe, along with Jamal Charles are all having great seasons. I’m predicting a 2009 Cardinals type run for the Chiefs. I’m concerned about the number of Ravens walking around practice hurting. Take the Chiefs to surprise on the moneyline.
Green Bay Packers +3 -125 +120
Game Total 46
Philadelphia Eagles -3 +105 -140
I kind of wish both teams could win this game but we can only include one in our NFL predictions for wild card weekend. The Packers offense has the ability to carry the defense and vice versa but the Eagles need a huge game from their potent offense to get the job done. I see the Packers blitzing like mad men here and surprising Eagles on their home turf.
To recap my NFL predictions for wild card weekend include Green Bay +120, KC Chiefs +150, Seahawks +10½ and Colts -2½
