The Washington Redskins (4-5) try to bounce back from an embarrassing 59-28 loss on Monday night football and now must travel to Tennessee to take on the Titans (5-4). That’s always a tough spot, and in this case off a big division battle the Redskins could struggle. NFL predictions don’t look favorable to Washington in the match-ups, as the Redskins defense is among the very worst in the league, allowing a league-worst 415 yards per game along with 6.0 yards per play. Against the Eagles Monday night, the Redskins allowed an astounding 8.8 yards per play.

Tennessee is very well-coached to take advantage of the Redskins flaws, as the Titans average 27 points per game and beat that same, strong Eagles team on this field 37-19 at the end of October. That was with Kerry Collins at quarterback, and with Vince Young back under center, the Titans should have their way both on the ground and through the air.

Tennessee star running back Chris Johnson leads a top-ten rushing unit averaging 124 yards per game. Washington just allowed the Eagles to run for 260 yards, and the Redskins are not in position to stack the line of scrimmage as their secondary is so poor that they rank last in the NFC allowing 286 yards passing per game, 64 percent completions and nearly 7.0 yards per pass attempt. Despite wide receiver Kenny Britt’s absence for this game, the Titans should use newly acquired Randy Moss more this week against a poor Redskins secondary. NFL predictions still see Tennessee controlling the line of scrimmage and moving the ball with much success.

The Redskins have lacked an identity on offense as the lack of a solid running game has put more pressure on quarterback Donovan McNabb and a shuffled offensive line. Tennessee leads the AFC in sacks, so expect plenty of pressure on McNabb this week and without a solid ground game, NFL predictions see the Redskins on their heels throughout the contest and likely playing from behind.

NFL Insider Tip: Washington is 3-13 ATS off a Monday night game including 0-5 SU/ATS their last five in that role. The Redskins run defense allows 5.0 yards per rush to rank last in the NFL.

Tennessee has four straight division games following this contest and know they can’t afford a letdown or loss against a less capable opponent. Despite an adjusted line following Washington’s embarrassing Monday night performance, NFL predictions still project a solid Titans win.
