Jets -4.5

N.Y. Jets (5-2 SU, 5-2 ATS, 5-2 O/U)

The Jets are coming off a dismal 9-0 loss to the Green Bay Packers in week 8 that snapped their five-game winning streak.

New York failed to cash in against the NFL predictions odds as a 6.5-point home favorite while playing Under the O/U total for the first time since their regular season opener.

Mark Sanchez threw two interceptions, was sacked twice and had at least a half-dozen passes dropped by his receivers in the loss, although New York’s vaunted defense didn’t give up a touchdown in the contest.

Detroit (2-5 SU, 6-1 ATS, 5-2 O/U)

The Lions won for the second time in three weeks by upsetting the Washington Redskins 37-25 to cash in as a 2.5-point road favorite against the NFL predictions odds.

The Lions played Over the set O/U total for the fourth consecutive game as second-year quarterback Matt Stafford threw four TD passes in the win.

Detroit also got another fantastic performance from rookie defensive tackle Ndamukong Suh as the No. 2 overall pick in his year’s draft recorded two sacks and one touchdown on a 17-yard fumble recovery.

Analysis: I am really impressed with the way the Lions are playing right now and genuinely believe they could be a team to be feared inside of the next two or three seasons if they continue gathering talent they way they have the last two seasons.

Nevertheless, the Jets are my NFL predictions pick in this contest as they’ve gone 5-0 ATS in their L/5 games as a road favorite and 8-1 ATS in their last nine road games overall.

The Lions have gone 5-0 ATS in their L/5 games against a team with a winning record and 4-1 ATS in their last five games overall, but Detroit has also gone just 2-8 ATS in their L/10 games as a home underdog between 3.5-10 points while also going just 2-6 ATS in their last eight games following a straight-up (SU) win.

My NFL predictions pick for this contest is to play the Jets and their second-ranked scoring defense (15.7 ppg) to slow down the blossoming Detroit Lions.

NFL Pick: New York Jets -4.5 Points
