NFL Playoff Exotic Bets – Two Team, Three Team and Four Team Parlay Wagers

January 12, 2011

I used the Indianapolis Colts as the key team in my NFL betting Playoff exotic bets during wild card weekend. That didn’t work out so well since Indianapolis lost straight up to the New York Jets 16 to 17.

This week is the Divisional Playoffs and once again I’m going to make a two team, three team, and four team parlay wager.

What it means is that I’ll be using every game this weekend in at least one of my parlay wagers.

NFL Divisional Playoffs: NFL Playoff Exotic Bets

Jan. 15th – Baltimore Ravens at Pittsburgh Steelers 4:30 pm EST

Green Bay Packers at Atlanta Falcons 8:00 pm EST

Jan. 16th – Seattle Seahawks at Chicago Bears 1:00 pm EST

New York Jets at New England Patriots 4:30 pm EST

Baltimore Ravens +3 ½ vs. Pittsburgh Steelers – - These two AFC betting North Rivals battle each other for the third time this season with a trip to the AFC Conference Championship on the line. I like that the Ravens probably should have beaten the Steelers in the second game, they did beat them in the first game, and that Baltimore knows Pitt so well that there won’t be a lot of surprises in this contest. But I’m not totally sold on the Ravens covering versus their biggest rivals on Saturday. So, I’ll make the Ravens at +3 ½ the third team I use in my NFL Playoff exotic bets.

Green Bay Packers +2 vs. Atlanta Falcons – - Believe it or not, I really believe that the Packers beat Atlanta straight up this time. Green Bay tied the Falcons with less than two minutes to go, but somehow, someway, the Falcons pulled out the game the first time the two teams clashed, 20 to 17. I don’t think that happens on January 15th. Green Bay’s defense was fantastic in their wild card victory over the Eagles, holding Philadelphia to only 82 rushing yards and 270 passing yards in the 21 to 16 victory. I believe that the D will shut down Atlanta’s QB Matt Ryan and the Falcons’ strong rushing attack. That means GB should win because there’s no way that the Falcons’ D shuts down QB Aaron Rodgers and Green Bay’s offense.

Chicago Bears -10 vs. Seattle Seahawks – - This is the second best wager in my NFL Playoff exotic bets. Seattle rode emotion, and bad mistakes by the Saints’ D, to a stunning victory last week. That won’t happen this week. Yes, the ‘Hawks beat Chicago straight up 26 to 20 earlier in the season, but that was before Chicago’s bye. Da Bears are 7 and 2 straight up since their bye and Chicago’s D won’t take the same chances that New Orleans’ defense did last Saturday. I like the Bears to beat the ‘Hawks by at least 2 touchdowns in this game.

New York Jets +9 vs. New England Patriots – - The Pats have been unstoppable since Nov. 14th when they beat Pittsburgh 39 to 26 on the road. New England blew out the Jets 45 to 3 the last time the two teams met but that game was on December 6th. The Jets victory over Colts in Indy last week tells me that their defense is back to where it was before the late regular season implosion. But New England outscored their final 5 opponents 184 to 47 you say? I’m well aware of that, but I’m also aware that the Jets know how to defend against Tom Brady and the Patriots’ passing attack. I’ll take the points and make this contest the 4th toughest in my NFL Playoff exotic bets.
