September 24, 2009
New York Giants (-6½) vs. Tampa Bay Buccaneers (+6½)
O/U (44)
Sunday, September 27 1:00 PM ET
The New York Giants (2-0 SU, 1-1 ATS, 2-0 O/U) aren’t Super Bowl title contenders for nothing.
After putting up a glowing, bankroll-boosting 12-4 ATS mark last season – and cashing in for their BetOnline backers last game – the Giants are going to show NFL fans and sports betting enthusiasts everywhere just why they are one of the top contenders to reach this season’s Super Bowl – and one of the most value-packed teams in all of football these days.
The Giants will take on the struggling Tampa Bay Buccaneers (0-2 SU, 0-2 ATS, 2-0 O/U) on Sunday at Raymond James Stadium at 1 PM ET.
The G-Men defeated Dallas 33-31 as a 3-point underdog in Week 2, narrowly covering the NFL betting odds as 3-point road underdogs while the game’s final score played Over the 45-point Over/Under total.
Eli Manning completed 25 of 38 passes for 330 yards with two touchdowns for New York and engineered the game-winning drive masterfully while Mario Manningham and Steve Smith each caught 10 passes with one touchdown.
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers aren’t looking very good under first-year head coach Raheem Morris and lost to Buffalo 33-20 as a 4-point underdog in Week 2 while the game’s combined score played Over the posted over/under total (42).
Veteran quarterback Byron Leftwich completed 26 of 50 passes for 296 yards with three touchdowns and two interceptions while tight end Kellen Winslow caught seven passes for 90 yards and a touchdown in a losing effort.

Analysis: Go ahead and look at all the trends you line BetOnline NFL sports betting members. The fact of the matter is that I saw Tampa Bay’s train-wreck of a season coming after watching Raheem Morris make one inexplicable move after another this past offseason.
The Buccaneers have given up a whopping 67 points after two games and look nothing like the fine defensive unit they had been under both, Tony Dungy and Jon Gruden for the better part of the last decade.
The Giants are the easy pick to cover the spread in this matchup as they have gone a blistering 6-1 ATS in their last seven games as a road favorite and 22-6 ATS in their last 28 road games overall.
New York has also gone 21-7 ATS in their last 28 games following an SU win and an identical 21-7 ATS in their last 28 games overall.
I wouldn’t even think about betting on the Bucs in this contest as they’ve gone a woeful 1-4 ATS in their last five games as a home underdog and a pitiful 0-4 ATS in their last four games following an SU loss.
With the Buccaneers giving up points by the ton this season and the Over going 7-3 in Tampa Bay’s last 10 games as an underdog, say play the Over as well.
