October 24, 2010
It’s about time pro football betting buffs!
It took six long weeks, but the New Orleans Saints finally got back to looking like the team that won it all last season.
After unleashing their potent offense in a 31-6 road rout of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, the Saints will be back at home in the Louisiana Superdome looking to halt their streak of alternating wins and losses over the last five weeks while cashing in against the BetOnline NFL Picks odds when they host the lowly Cleveland Browns at Louisiana Superdome on Sunday at 1:00 PM ET.

The Browns were man-handled in their 28-10 loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers, failing to cash in against the NFL picks betting line as a whopping 14-point road underdog.
The Saints rolled to a convincing 31-6 win over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in Week 6, cashing in for pro football bettors as 5.5-point NFL picks road favorite.
Cleveland Browns (1-5 SU, 2-4 ATS, 3-3 O/U)
- Browns are 6-2 ATS in their last 8 games following an SU loss.
- Browns are 7-3 ATS in their last 10 games as an underdog.
- Browns are 9-4 ATS in their last 13 games overall.
The Browns got a decent performance from rookie quarterback Colt McCoy in his first career start as the former Texas Longhorns signal-caller completed 23 of 33 passes for 281 yards with one TD and two interceptions.

- Saints are 2-5 ATS in their last 7 games as a home favorite.
- Saints are 1-4 ATS in their last 5 games overall.
- Saints are 1-7 ATS in their last 8 games following an SU win.
- Saints are 0-5 ATS vs. a team with a losing record.

Analysis: I know the New Orleans Saints are head and shoulders above the lowly Cleveland Browns and hung a 31-spot on the dazed Buccaneers in Week 6, but I’ve got to go with the Cleveland Browns and their totally underrated defense to cash in against the NFL picks betting line and cover the double digit point spread.
First and foremost, the Browns are allowing just 20.8 points per game this season (17th) but that’s not all NFL gamblers. Cleveland has held the opposition to 20 points or less in four of their six games and have not lost a game by more than the 18 points they fell to Pittsburgh by last week.
The Browns have also gone 6-2 ATS in their last eight games following an SU loss and 7-3 ATS in their last 10 games as an underdog.
The New Orleans Saints may be the reigning Super Bowl champions, but they’ve struggled badly when trying to cash in against the NFL Picks betting odds, going 2-5 ATS in their last seven games as a home favorite and just 1-4 ATS in their last 5 games overall, snapping a four-game ATS skid against the Bucs.
Winning may not be a cure all for the Saints either pro football gamblers, as Drew Brees and company have gone just 1-7 ATS in their last eight games following an SU win.
While Cleveland has posted a bankroll-boosting 9-4 ATS mark in their last 13 games overall, New Orleans has gone 0-5 ATS in their last five games against a team with a losing record.
