NFL Picks – EZ Pickings on San Diego at Denver

January 1, 2011

When I try to advise my readers on NFL Picks against the Football Sportsbook Pointspread, it surprises me late in the season when some of these lines don’t really take into account the talent of these teams.

The Chargers are SUPERIOR in every way to the Broncos, and they’re only favored by 3 points (that will go up)? Are you high? Did somebody miss the season and only see the highlights of the Broncos win last week?

I didn’t miss a damn thing, and it’s lucky for you.

San Diego Chargers (8-7) at Denver Broncos (4-11) – Sunday, Jan. 2 at 4:15 ET

NFL Betting Line:

San Diego Chargers (8-7 ATS) -3 -125 (ML -175)

Denver Broncos (4-11 ATS) +3 +105 (ML +155)

Over/Under Total – 47

The Chargers really blew it this year in a lot of ways starting with giving Norv “Land of NO Rings” Turner an extension with a bunch of cash!! My NFL Picks for them going far in the NFL Playoffs won’t be so high next year.

They have already staked claim that Norv (who names a kid Norv-I guess they misspelled Dork on the birth certificate) will be here next year. That is probably because they would have a big payoff number otherwise.

San Diego started off slow in the season as they usually do, but eventually you won’t be able to catch up ya idgets. That eventuality was this year which sucks the way Philip Rivers is slinging it and getting Vincent Jackson back.

Oh well, onward and downward as they don’t say. I expect San Diego to bring it and bring it hard on the Denver Broncos this week.

Rivers has too much pride and hates losing too much to give up anything to one of the worst teams in the NFL. Of all the NFL Picks this week, this one seems to be easiest.

Did I mention Philip Rivers has a 118.8 passer rating in nine career starts against the Broncos? His passer rating will exceed that by plenty in this game. It’s light up time, and Rivers is holding the FIRE.

I have to start with Denver by saying I love the way Tim Tebow is. He is tooooooo much for some people but not me. I love the enthusiasm, the energy and the faith. I believe that’s all real too people.

Let’s face some facts though. Tim Tebow is not an NFL prototype quarterback. He is going to have some great games and some horrible games, but he’s probably never going to be a consistent starting winning quarterback in the NFL.

Now let’s get to facts that will tell you why this is one of the best NFL Picks this week. Denver lost 5 games in a row before last week’s win over the crap defense of the Houston Texans.

Well, the Chargers have one of the best defenses in the NFL. It’s going to be a loooong day for Tim Tebow and the Denver Broncos.

I don’t expect the Broncos to score over 13 and probably under 10. The Chargers will be in the 40s for points.

NFL Picks Play of the Week – Bet San Diego -3 -125 (up to-6) over Denver
