New Orleans: -9
Total: 47
Starting in New Orleans, is there a team that’s more under the radar than the New Orleans Saints? The defending Super Bowl Champions have now won five games in a row, last losing the weekend before Halloween. Wow!
And although Drew Brees and this offense get all the credit, it’s actually New Orleans’ defense which is the difference. On the season, the underappreciated unit is allowing just 18.5 points and 307 yards per game. Both rank in the Top 10 in the NFL.
As for their opponents Sunday, the Rams quietly come into this one winner’s of two in a row. But with their third straight road trip, can they get another victory?
Don’t count on it. As good as the Rams have been the last two weekends, their wins have come against Denver and Arizona, a pair of teams that are a combined 6-18. As good as good as Sam Bradford and company are playing, they haven’t seen a defense as good as the Saints’ in a long time.
When it comes right down to it, the first half of your NFL Parlay Picks should be clear: Take the Saints
NFL Parlay Picks: New Orleans -9
Miami Dolphins (6-6 SU, 7-5 ATS) at New York Jets (9-3 SU, 7-5 ATS)
Sunday, December 12: 4:15 p.m. Live from New Meadowlands Stadium, East Rutherford, NJ
NFL Betting Odds:
Miami: +5 ½
New York: -5 ½
Total: 40
For the second half of the NFL Parlay Picks, let’s head to New York, where the Jets are looking to bounce back from an embarrassing loss last Monday night in New England.
It won’t be easy, as the Patriots controlled every aspect of that football game, blowing New York out of the water 45-3. New England put up 405 yards of total offense, while causing trouble for the Jets and Mark Sanchez on defense. Sanchez completed just 17 of 33 passes with three interceptions.
As for the Dolphins, they seem all but out of the AFC playoffs picture, but can still play spoiler in their own division with a win. The Dolphins are coming off a tough 13-10 loss to Cleveland.
But upon closer inspection, even despite the loss, Miami should be your pick.
As bas the Dolphins offense was last week, their defense has been excellent all season. They’re allowing just 300 yards per game, which ranks fourth in the NFL, with both their pass and run defenses ranking in the top 10 as well.
In the cold weather in New York, and with the way the Jets played offensively last week, there’s no reason to think that anything will be different this time around in the New Meadowlands Stadium. Having one less day to prepare for this game can’t help.
The Dolphins need to be the second part of your NFL Parlay Picks.
NFL Parlay Picks: Miami -5 ½
