NFL Parlay Picks – Sunday Five-Team Parlay

October 21, 2010

Pittsburgh Steelers @ Miami Dolphins

The Pittsburgh Steelers appear to be one of the best teams in the NFL and they’ll hope to extend the Miami Dolphins home struggles.

The Dolphins are a perfect 3-0 on the road but have lost both home games.

Their blueprint to victory is running the football and it’s hard to envision the Steelers giving up yards on the ground knowing that. Look for another big effort from Big Ben Roethlisberger as the Steelers get the win and cover.

NFL Parlay Picks: Steelers -3

Washington Redskins @ Chicago Bears

Can they Chicago Bears really lose consecutive home games?

At one point considered to be the front runner in the NFC North and a serious playoff contender, a home loss to Seattle last week really brought out the gloom and doom. This week, though, the Bears will get back to their basics: running the ball and playing defense.

Jay Cutler gets to face his former coach, Mike Shanahan, but it will be Matt Forte’s strong running that leads the Bears to victory.

NFL Parlay Picks: Bears -3

St. Louis Rams @ Tampa Bay Buccaneers

The St. Louis Rams are clearly better than anyone thought they would be, but we still have to be realistic. They are still a young, inexperienced team and playing on the road – especially outdoors – is going to be a challenge for them.

The Bucs are coming off a blowout home loss and after that embarrassment, they’ll pull up their socks this week.

NFL Parlay Picks: Buccaneers -2.5

San Francisco 49ers @ Carolina Panthers

The San Francisco 49ers got off the mat last week by notching their first win of the season and they’ll hope to build momentum against another team aiming to do the same. The Carolina Panthers are coming off a bye week and should be getting healthy. If they can get Steve Smith back, they could be a threat.

Both teams run similar styles of offense as they both rely on the running game and both have questionable quarterbacking. Nonetheless, the 49ers will keep their momentum going and get their second win of the season.

NFL Parlay Picks: 49ers -3

New York Giants @ Dallas Cowboys

The Dallas Cowboys are probably the first team in NFL history to have be ranked top-four in both total offense and total defense, yet boast a 1-4 record.

Few teams have been able to shoot themselves in the foot quite as much as the Cowboys have as penalties, poor coaching decisions and ill-advised turnovers have cost them in all four losses.

But the bottom line is that on Monday Night Football, this is their season. Don’t expect them to fail once again in front of a national audience. If they can beat the Giants, they can close the gap on them, so expect their best effort.

NFL Parlay Picks: Cowboys -3 -120
