Denver Broncos at San Diego Chargers

NFL Betting Line: SD favored at +9 ½ points.

The Chargers have one of the top offenses in all of football and have fared well on defense as well even without Shawne Merriman.

Now, the offense is about to get even more explosive with the anticipated returns of Malcom Floyd, one of the most underrated WR’s in the NFL, and Legadu Naanee, who isn’t far behind.

The Chargers are going to put up big points this Monday night, that much is for sure.

The Broncos have a good passing attack and some hope in the run game behind Knowshon Moreno but they haven’t put it all together.

At the same time, if both teams play their best, the NFL odds favorite Chargers will win going away.

The Chargers have been beset by poor concentration and mental mistakes at times, but QB Philip Rivers hasn’t. He’s on track to break Dan Marino’s 5,084 yards, an NFL passing record, and the Chargers are tops in total offense.

If anyone can cover such a large spread in a prime time game, it’s San Diego.

With the second-best defense in terms of yards allowed in the NFL, San Diego can also stop the Broncos’ passing attack.

This one will be close early but San Diego should pull away. The Chargers have won 3 of their last 4 home games against the Broncos straight up and they have the firepower to beat the Broncos against the spread as well now that they are finally getting healthy all-around.
