NFL Odds – Surprising Baltimore Ravens Win Against the Odds
October 4, 2010
So the Pittsburgh Steelers were not perfect without Roethlisberger. The Steelers lost 14-17 on Sunday to the Baltimore Ravens, who now improve to 3-1 on the season. No NFL odds makers predicted Ravens quarterback Joe Flacco to exhibit such strong leadership skills and consistency this season. But Flacco and the Ravens are on top of the AFC North division now in a tie with the Steelers.
Flacco threw an 18-yard pass for a touchdown to TJ Houshmandzadeh with only 32 seconds remaining on the clock for the win. In total, Flacco threw for 256 yards, one touchdown and one interception in the win.

With the loss, Pittsburgh fell to 3-1, but await the return of their star quarterback next week, at the completion of his four-game suspension.
This was Flacco’s first win in four attempts in Pittsburgh. And now with the return of the Steelers quarterback, the Ravens are in a tie for first in the division, rather than being two games down in the AFC North. You could say that the Ravens really took advantage of the situation, getting the win in Pittsburgh early in the season before Roethlisberger’s return.
The Steelers missed several opportunities throughout the game to score or convert on Ravens turnovers. Looks like they also missed out on a perfect 4-0 present for Big Ben. Oh well, NFL betting fans know the positive impact that Roethlisberger will provide for this team upon his return, and together with the strong Steelers defense, they could easily be one of the best teams in the NFL odds this season.
Next up for Pittsburgh is a sure-fire win against the Cleveland Browns next Sunday, as Baltimore faces the Denver Broncos.
