NFL Odds – Seattle vs St Louis
October 3, 2010
The Seattle Seahawks are in a tie for the NFC West lead and the St. Louis Rams aren’t in last place. The NFL odds didn’t expect much either team so both are huge surprises. These two teams meet this Sunday in St. Louis in what should be a surprisingly good game.
The NFL odds makers have set the Seahawks as -1 point favorites. As the line is less than 2 points, no moneyline is available. The game total is a set at 40½ points.

The Seattle Seahawks have huge wins over the San Francisco 49ers and the San Diego Chargers, as both wins came in the safe confines of Qwest field in Seattle. Their only road game ended in a 31-14 loss to the Denver Broncos.
The Seahawks overhauled the organization in the offseason with former USC coach Pete Carroll coming in to run the show. The team has responded well to Pete Carroll’s new attitude but they need to prove they can win on the road.
The Seahawks have lost 11 of their past 13 road games, fortunately the two wins have come against the St. Louis Rams. The Seahawks have a ten game winning streak going against the Rams. Their last loss came in 2004.
The St. Louis Rams broke into the win column for the first time this season in week 3 after they upset the Washington Redskins 30-16. The win was their first win at the Edward Jones Dome in 15 games.
The Rams have been awful over the past few years but like the Seahawks, there’s a different feel about the Rams this year. It all starts with their number one draft pick Sam Bradford.
While his numbers don’t show it so far, Bradford has completed 59% of his passes for 655 yards with four touchdowns and five interceptions, but he looks confident and he looks like he’ll be a star in this league. Bradford’s numbers would be much better if the Rams had better receivers but they will come.
Running back Steven Jackson might miss Sunday’s game after tweaking his groin against the Redskins. His backup Kenneth Darby rushed for 49 yards and a touchdown in Jackson’s place.
Despite the win over the Chargers last week, the Seahawks defense gave up 455 passing yards to Philip Rivers. Sam Bradford should have a good game Sunday afternoon.
The Rams looked good even, well good for the Rams, in their losses in week 1 and 2 but they are getting better. I really like the attitude the Carroll has brought to the Seahawks but until they prove they can win on the road, I’m fading Seattle on the NFL odds.
