NFL Football Odds

Washington Redskins (+7) -110

New York Giants (-7) -110

Over/Under 43.5

The Giants have beaten the Redskins four straight times and Washington is struggling entering this contest, losing three of its last four games including 1-3 ATS as NFL odds underdogs. New York rallied in the fourth quarter last week on this field to defeat Jacksonville 24-20 as quarterback Eli Manning directed a pair of long touchdown drives in victory.

The Giants played without some key wide receivers and defensive players last week, and Jacksonville was able to take advantage on the ground, rushing for 207 yards. But Washington lacks a good running game to take advantage, and this week will suit up a third and fourth string running back with Ryan Torain expected to miss this contest. NFL odds and stats show the Redskins averaging just 90 yards per game rushing, including 80 the past three games.

The Giants have one of the NFL’s top defenses statistically, allowing 286 yards per game to rank #2 in the NFL. The yards per play defenses show a clear advantage to the Giants, who allow 4.8 yards per play to 5.9 yards per play for the Redskins; the NFC’s worst defense that also allows nearly 401 yards per game. NFL odd and bets are often won by the team that can control the line of scrimmage and run the ball and/or stop the run. The Giants have solid advantages at the line of scrimmage, but be sure to check the injury reports this week.

The Giants have been forced to shuffle their offensive line the past month and their rushing average has dropped from 138 yards per game for the season to 101 yards per game the past three games. Still, quarterback Eli Manning has not been sacked in the last four games and the Giants offense has averaged 349 yards the past three games. Manning should put up at least 200 yards passing in this spot to surpass 3,000 passing yards for the sixth straight season.

NFL Insider Tip: The Giants are 7-1 SU and 6-2 ATS the last eight meetings against the Redskins. The over is 8-1 in NY Giants last nine games vs. NFC East.

NFL odds should see the Giants perform better this week while the Redskins lack of rushing that produced just 29 rushing yards last week should prove fatal once again this week. Expect the Giants defense to slow Washington’s offense and secure a solid win.

My NFL Predictions: New York Giants (-7) -110
