The Browns went 2-2 SU and ATS this preseason while playing Over their O/U total three times. Tampa Bay also went 2-2 SU in the preseason, but managed to cover the NFL prediction lines in three of those games while going 2-2 against the O/U total.

Cleveland Browns 411

  • Browns are 7-0 ATS in their last 7 games overall.
  • Browns are 5-1 ATS in their last 6 road games.
  • Browns are 1-4 ATS in their last 5 games in September.
  • Browns are 1-9-1 ATS in their last 11 games in Week 1.
  • Under is 5-2- 1 in Browns last 8 games in September.
  • Under is 5- 2 in Browns last 7 games in Week 1.

The Browns finished last in the competitive AFC North last season with a 5-11 SU record. Head coach Eric Mangini did however; guide the team to four consecutive victories – and a whopping seven straight ATS victories to close out the 2009 season in fine fashion (while saving his job for one more season).

Now the Browns will enter the 2010 regular season with veteran quarterback Jake Delhomme at the helm and veteran Seneca Wallace backing him up after jettisoning former signal callers Derek Anderson and Brady Quinn.

Delhomme completed a whopping 72 percent of his passes in the preseason while throwing two TD passes and no interceptions. Cleveland averaged 19.7 points per game in the preseason while allowing just 16.5 per game.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers 411

  • Buccaneers are 1-10 ATS in their last 11 home games.
  • Buccaneers are 0-4 ATS in their last 4 Week 1 games.
  • Under is 7- 0 in Buccaneers last 7 games overall.
  • Under is 4- 1 in Buccaneers last 5 home games.
  • Under is 11- 4 in Buccaneers last 15 games in Week 1.
  • Over is 4- 1 in Buccaneers last 5 games in September.

The Buccaneers went 2-2 SU in the postseason despite losing starting quarterback Josh Freeman for two games while covering the NFL predictions lines three times in four tries for avid NFL betting enthusiasts.

Tampa Bay went 2-2 against their preseason O/U NFL Lines while averaging 16.0 points per game and allowing 15.2 points per game defensively.

Analysis: The Tampa bay Buccaneers may be playing at home in this contest, but it is the older, more experienced Cleveland Browns that I like to win this contest and cash in against the NFL betting lines.

I love the way the Browns closed out the regular season last year and I expect them to be even better this time around, mostly because they’ll be getting some competent play at quarterback for the first time in ages.

Tampa Bay has gone 0- 4 in its last four Week 1 games and a disturbing 1-10 ATS in its last 11 home games.

I’m going to look past Cleveland’s dismal 1-4 ATS mark in its last five games in the month of September and depressing 1-9-1 ATS in their last 11 regular season openers and play the Browns to build on their 5-1 ATS mark in their last six road games – and season-finishing 7-0 ATS in their last seven games of the 2009 season.

I suspect Freeman won’t be totally at full strength for this contest and the two-game suspension that cornerback Aqib Talib must serve doesn’t help the Bucs here at all.

I like the Browns to cover the NFL prediction lines in this contest by recording the outright road win as slight road underdogs.

Expert NFL Pick: Cleveland Browns +3 Points
