NFL If Bets – Duo of Wild Card Matchups to String Together As NFL If Bets

January 7, 2011

Looking to nail a NFL If Bet on this weekend’s slate of NFL Wild card contests?

Well, no worries mates, as I’ve got the scoop for BetOnline NFL Betting enthusiasts that are looking to string at least two wagers together as part of a value-packed NFL If Bet.

That’s right gridiron gamblers, cashing in with a potentially-winning NFL If Bet by nailing at least two of the four Wild Card Weekend matchups, should be a fairly easy walk through the pigskin park as I offer up two near-lock selections to cash in big against the NFL If Bet Odds.

[Off topic: by the way, do you want to get a 55% bonus on your first deposit here at BetOnline? Find out more exciting details HERE.]

First however, here is a very brief explanation of what an NFL If Bet is.

An If Bet consists of two or more straight bets joined together by an ‘If Clause”.

‘If’ you nail your first wager, then bettors can proceed on to the next wager. In If Bet wagers, bettors get double action but each wager must be for the same amount or less than the very first wager. There are two types of If wagers: If win is one type, meaning your wagering selections must be winners. The other type of If Bet is ‘If win or tie’. If a game is cancelled, postponed or graded no action….the wager is graded as a tie.

Okay, now that you know what an NFL If Bet is, let’s get to the two, near-lock’ selections for Wild Card Weekend.

New Orleans Saints -10

Over/Under 44

Analysis: I think I’ve written it about three times, but for BetOnline NFL gamblers looking to nail an NFL If Bet, I really believe the New Orleans Saints are as close to a lock selection as it gets for Wild Card weekend.

Making things even better is the fact that, after opening as 10.5-point favorites New Orleans is an even more value-packed NFL If Bet wagering selection with the NFL point spread for their opening round road date at Seattle having dropped a half-point since its initial odds offering.

A whopping 83 percent of BetOnline NFL gridiron gamblers think the Saints will record the ATS victory over the mediocre, 7-9 Seahawks – and so do I.

The defending-champion New Orleans Saints (11-5 SU, 7-9 ATS) will not lose this game to a clearly inferior Seattle Seahawks (7-9 SU, 7-9 ATS) team that had to win its regular season finale just to get into the postseason.

I know New Orleans went just 7-9 ATS this season, including an uninspiring 2-4 ATS over its last, half-dozen regular season games, but New Orleans has also posted an impressive 10-4 ATS mark in their last 14 road games against a team with a losing home record while going 5-2 ATS in their last seven games against their NFC counterparts.

The Saints average 4.6 points per game more than Seattle while allowing 6.2 fewer points per contest defensively for an overall scoring differential of 10.8 points while Seattle head coach Pete Carroll has still not publicly said who will start at quarterback for his young team (not too bright).

The Saints beat the Seahawks 34-19 in Week 11 to cash in against the spread as an 11-point home favorite and I say they do they same as part of my NFL If Bets selections, in this contest in spite of being on the road.

Baltimore Ravens at Kansas City Chiefs 1:00 PM ET

Baltimore Ravens -3

Over/Under 40.5

Analysis: I really hate to see the Kansas City Chiefs’ magical season come to an end BetOnline gridiron gamblers, but I just don’t see the Chiefs beating the more experienced – and undoubtedly stingy – Baltimore Ravens in this contest, which is why I really like Baltimore as part of my NFL If Bets selections.

The Ravens have gone 4-1-1 ATS in their last six road games and a nearly perfect 4-1 against the online NFL betting odds in their last five Wild Card games. And are allowing just 16.9 points per game this season defensively.

In addition to Baltimore’s positives, BetOnline gridiron gamblers should know that the Kansas City Chiefs have gone just 1-6 ATS in their last seven games against their AFC conference rivals while also going 0-4 ATS in their last four home games against a team with a winning road record.

I’m not real impressed with Baltimore’s offense, but they have compiled an impressive 7-3 against the online NFL betting odds in their last 10 playoff road games and I say they build on that encouraging ATS stat by cashing in as the second half of my NFL If Bets selections for Wild Card Weekend.
